Nationalism in moderation is acceptable and expected from anyone who takes pride in the country they live in......But In excess it can really have a nasty effect on people of different backgrounds if shoveled directly in their face constantly. For example say my American countrymen developed a sense of morale after the defeat of Osama Bin Ladin but start to refute and undertone Muslims through out the country (keep In mind this is not about EVERYONE) only the select maybe million out of the population who take nationalistic pride to the extreme. Despite the tensions i know this country has under cover for them they are still people as are we all and people must open their minds to see that terrorists are terrorists and muslims are muslims...not all muslims are terrorists.....same thing can be said for really any ethnic groups throughout history not all blacks (half my race ..I'm mixed Caucasian Native American and African american) could be considered the N word because that means ignorant and a massive amount of us (now) are educated and well equipped for society but that wasn't the common belief in the past and that also wasn't the case when the ability to learn was withheld..... does anyone see how that could become a problem? What drew me to want to discuss this even if with only one person is because today I heard someone tell another person to go back to Mexico because this is America but it made no sense because before this was America was it not native territory before the colonies came settled and after so long began manifest destiny so I'm just confused on how we can all live in the same place and support the same country but have so much hatred for each other when love is so much easier to give than hate.
