As far as my knowledge can extend, i see a sage as someone that can utilize nature power. It is someone that is empowered by the environment. I'm guessing you have to deemed worthy to be a sage by a prophecy. Well at least that's how it works with the toads. So .. we know Orochimaru isn't a sage based on the fact that he never managed to find a body that could always absorb natural chakra like Jugo, so in turn he could not find someone compatible. And Jariaya is a sage because the toads taught him sage art. Kabuto was taught snake sage mode in manga 579. Hashirama also had a sage art jutsu which he had to go through the same process of staying still and gathering natural energy. So he did also have a form of sage mode. What i want to know is, does Tsunade have any form of sage mode. The 3 saanin have summonings and 2 have proven to be capable of having their elders teach sage mode. What about the slugs? And i think Kabuto is the best sage. Any opposers or anyone agree. Let me know how you feel.
