I have read on many occasions on the base that a df will respawn on the nearest fruit tree. Is this true? If true where does it say that in the manga?

Also. If this is true... is this how blackbeard stole white beards df? Did he have a tiny- bonsai fruit tree hidden in his black tent? That would ensure the fruit would grow there... and when it magically appeared, he ate it?
What other theories are there for teach being able to do that. NOT about how his body can handle it. But how he took it in the first place

he obtained the white beards fruit cuz of the black devil fruit he was searching for long years where he was still in wb crew

If the df do respawn on the closest fruit tree, then the tree tree no mi would be one of the most crutial df's in one piece. You have abilities similar to hashirama, and after killing your opponent, you could take the df by using your ability to make a fruit tree. Then you could supply one of your crew members with a df.

a devil fruit will manefest itself in the nearest FRUIT. Whether it is on tree or not. This is shown when smileys df regrows in a bag of apples.

From what it was shown, when a Devil Fruit user dies, the powers convert another Fruit, regardless of being in a tree or not, into a Devil Fruit (I'd expect, with the same power). It doesn't necessarily have to be the nearest fruit, I think it's a random event. Somewhere in the world, a new Devil Fruit is born.

I think that mechanism is different than what BB used to steal WB's fruit. I believe it has something to do with the Dark Dark fruit, as in, it pulls the devil fruit's essence and brings it to him, forcing it to coexist with whatever devil fruit power he already has. That, though, is just speculation
