[Discussion] How the pairings stand as of now

This is just a thread on how the common pairings in Naruto stand as of now and how each person in the pairing feels about each other based off events in the manga. This is just my opinion and how I look at it. I'm going to try to be as unbias as possible, feel free to discuss anything and tell me what you think, but please follow the rules and guidelines of NarutoBase. Thank you.

If you want some manga evidence just click the "[1]" at the end of the statement you need the manga page for. Also, the stuff in brackets is just little extra thoughts to make it more interesting.

Hinata - Loves Naruto

. Legit admitted her love to Naruto and has risked her life to save him on 2 occasions.

. It has also been strongly shown since chapter 1 that Hinata has had romantic feelings towards Naruto, even having the same nindo way as him.

Naruto - Has been shown getting more screen time with Hinata during the war arc but we are still not 100% sure how he feels about her since he has not shown any romantic interest. The common "Naruto held Hinata's hand"

argument does particularly mean Naruto is romantically interested in her since he needed to hold her hand to give her chakra like Kakashi and everyone else

. It also seems he held her hand longer and spent more time with her to thank her for her speech that she gave him and for knocking him back into sense. So right now we aren't sure how Naruto feels about her.

NaruSaku

Naruto - Has admitted to loving Sakura

, to Sai in the past also since the start of the manga he has been strongly shown to have romantic feelings for Sakura. Naruto has not said anything to debunk this. The common argument, "Naruto shot Sakura down in the land of iron" argument does not really come into play here.

This does not mean Naruto has stopped loving Sakura. He simply denied her confession because he did not believe it, so he didn't want to go along with it. Sai also explained to him that she was trying to protect him from getting killed by the Akatsuki by further chasing after Sasuke.

Sakura - Confessed her love to Naruto, however this turned out to be a "fake confession". Has not legit verbally admitted to loving Naruto. However she has shown little hints of romantic interest throughout the manga with her relationship with Naruto

which was hinted by Yamato who seemed like he was about to say she loves Naruto

. Sakura also risked her life to try and calm down Naruto whenever he went 4-tails against Orochimaru

. Also this is just for the people that say Sakura only cares about Sasuke and he is first priorty, this is actually wrong because

Naruto collapsed on the ground and instead of following Sai and Orochimaru which would effectively lead her to Sasuke she wanted to wait with Naruto until he got better, even when Naruto told her to go. However her feelings aren't 100% clear otherwise pairing wars would be over.

SasuSaku

Sasuke - Hasn't really shown any romantic interest in Sakura however he has shown that he cares for her a lot in part 1

. However in part 2 this went downhill, he even tried to kill her on several occasions after spending show much time with her in part 1.

This shows to me that he does not truly love her and probably never will (however I won't be surprised if Kishimoto does this).

Sakura - She legit confessed her love to Sasuke in part 1.

Sasuke - Hasn't shown any romantic feelings towards Karin. He even pierced her chest with his chidori which could of killed her

Karin - Loves Sasuke. Has been shown to be in love with him ever since she met him. It also seemed like she forgave him after he stabbed her in the chest with chidori and was flirting with him

So basically right now there are no confirmed pairings, just different hints that Kishimoto has put here and there. Whichever one you like is really up to preference. Remember this is just my look on things but I tried to be as unbiased as I could. If you read this far, then thank you for taking the time to read my thread

I respect your opinion but I would have to disagree. NaruHina is too one sided for my taste. The pairing I prefer would be NaruSaku. Sakura has at least returned some sort of feelings for Naruto, not to mention they have spent so much time together. Also, Naruto (the main character) has loved her since she was introduced.

I've always pondered about your reasons ( and I'm not starting a whole naruhina vs narusaku debate). But don't you think that Hinata has also always loved Naruto since part 1? And to be rational, Naruto, at some point, has been responding positively ( not much but he didn't say no either! ) to her feelings, even when he CLEARLY knows her feelings. I can't say your arguement is invalid , let's just see what Kishi has in store for us =D

She has always had feelings for Naruto since part 1. I know. However Naruto is the main character so his feelings are more important.

Your right in a sense, but Naruto still has to show any romantic interest in Hinata. Just because he's being nice to her doesn't necessarily mean he "likes" her. If somebody confessed to you and you didn't feel the same way would you just, ignore them?

My take on the whole pairings is this; Kishi has hinted and played at both pairings (NaruSaku and NaruHina) for years now and for most of the series to the point where either is potentially canon, and whichever side loses is just gonna stand there, confused next to their alleged 'evidence' and blame "bad writing" for their shipping not happening.

Though, I'd be funny if Kishi just continuously trolls and hints both pairings and then just doesn't end on either of them.

Time will tell.....

The common argument that people "confirm" NaruHina with is the hand holding because in Japan that is literally (Culturally) the equivalent of kissing your significant other. I personally ship NaruHina, but I won't be a completely biased uneducated supporter, so I'll leave the pairings up in arms until one of them is truly confirmed.

Hinata and Naruto get along perfectly, what else matches the most with Naruto's hot temperd wildness? It's gotta be Hinata's calm personality and she can easily calm Naruto down. Only time Sakura gets mad is when Naruto is being pervy or rude. She knows how to put him in line. Other than this they actually get along really well. Road To Ninja was a great example of this. Hinata would give in alot with Naruto to be honest.

Ha ha. I personally couldn't care less about development or if the pairing of my choice becomes canon. Sure it'll be nice but I don't like a pairing because of statics or likeliness to happen. I agree and this is how I decide the pairing I prefer. This thread is just about how each character feels about the other, supported with manga proof.

my preference is narusaku! i love them together and i feel like they have been building quite the love story from the start. they have a beautiful friendship (in the manga...anime destroys it) and honestly i feel like Hinata's love for Naruto is no different than Sakura (part 1s) love for Sasuke.
NaruHina is getting some potential development certainly, and it will be interesting to see SakuSasu reaction once they see each other (personally i hope she goes for a organ...just for everything hes put her through) but i still say NaruSaku has the greatest potential of happening. No one blushed when Naruto grabbed Hinata's hand like they did when Sakura hugged Naruto! :x3:

PS Nathoman, great job on unbiased views and using manga evidence, this is how pairing discussions should go! Not bashing any character involved.

NaruHina seems like its cannon at this point. Sakura and Naruto will always love each other, but Sakura never showed romantic or sexual attraction to him and Naruto actually rejected her when she confessed her love to him.

SasuKarin seems likely because Sasuke needs a woman who can boss him around. The problem is does Sasuke still want her dead and WHY Karin would ever forgive Sasuke for shooting and killing her?

SasuSaku seems likely because Sakura is now in a war and Team 7 is about to have their reunion. Sasuke needs a woman who is smart and knows what it is like to go through a traumatic experience.

SasuIno was hinted when Asuma told Ino she should surpass Sakura in combat AND romance, yet was later detoured when her father reminded her that her friends are more important then sexual romantic interests.

LeeSaku was given a bad omen early in part 1 when Lee was weighing Sakura's affections on grabbing 50 leaves. He grabbed 49, but saved a squirrel instead of grabbing the last one. (No, really. That's what happened)

SakuMr.LoveLetter is highly unlikely, but I ship it.

With Sasuke, he is a wildcard. My OTP (ironically) became

SasuKarin after reading chapter 627 EVEN THOUGH I HATED HER REACTION. She punched Suigetsu for something Sasuke has done, then goes up to him AND RUBS AGAINST HIM. I wanted her to be ACTING when she was yelling at Sasuke's picture in 576 (or whatever chapter that was). I want there to be more to her, but so far she appears as a one dimensional comic relief character. Kishi, you can do better then that. I'm actually counting on her to be a lot more methodical then she looks in future chapter revelations.

The main reason I like SasuKarin is because I don't see Sasuke with anyone who does not understand what it is like to go through a trauma like he has. Sakura never really understood Sasuke in part 1, and she still does not know about Konoha's genocidal orders.

I could go on about pairings, but then it would just be a wall of text.
