[Discussion] What Bleach about?

So i have Seen OP and Naruto and quite the other few but.... whats bleach about basically? considering its one of the Longest running animes i already assume its good but, just wanna know why.

Its about a guy called ichigo kurosaki who turns into a soul reaper and tries to save his friend rukia kuchiki from execution. Didn't really watch it much after that to be fair. My cousin usually keeps me updated thiogh. Its too long to explain properly

Bleach follows the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper (Shinigami/Death God) —a death personification similar to the Grim Reaper—from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki.

Ichigo Kurosaki is a teenager gifted with the ability to see spirits. When Rukia is severely wounded defending Ichigo from the Hollow, she transfers a part of her reiatsu (霊圧?, literally, "spiritual pressure") energy to Ichigo so that he can defeat the Hollow. However, Ichigo takes almost all of her energy, transforming him into a Soul Reaper and allowing him to defeat the Hollow with ease. With her powers diminished, Rukia is left stranded in the human world until she can recover her strength. In the meantime, Ichigo must take over Rukia's role as a Soul Reaper, battling Hollows and guiding souls to the afterlife realm known as the Soul Society (尸魂界 (ソウル·ソサエティ) Sōru Sosaeti?).

As some time passes and Rukia has yet to return to the Soul Society, her Soul Reaper superiors learn about her whereabouts and actions and sentence her to death for performing the illegal act of transferring her powers. A confrontation due to this ends with two high ranking Soul Reapers (Shinigami) injuring Ichigo and taking Rukia to, their world, The Soul Society. Although he is unable to stop Rukia's departure to the Soul Society, Ichigo resolves to rescue her with the aid of several of his spiritually aware classmates, Orihime Inoue, Yasutora (Chad) Sado, and Uryū Ishida, and the ex-Soul Reapers Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara. Once in the Soul Society, Ichigo and company battle against the elites of the Soul Reaper military and strive to reach Rukia before her execution. Found at

I recommend you watch it, and when you do; make sure you dont make the mistake that many of us do; continue watching after the 'rescue rukia' arc; skip the fillers and you will soon encounter this arc that is utterly astounding; i mean its the best anime arc that i've seen; it's slightly better than the war arc in once piece

It's like Naruto, but samurai version

It's about shinigami's (like ninja's) that protect cities from hollows that are some crazy beings that come from another dimension, eating human's souls

Ichigo a normal human can see shinigami's and hollows, he gets powers from an injured shinigami but ends up helping him awaken his own shinigami powers.

It's actually pretty sick

it's a great anime/manga, Iv'e been liking bleach current arc more than naruto current arc so you should check this manga out ASAP

Well, the best thing about Bleach is Arrancar arc. After the Fullbring arc the manga got really bored.

First off, a few spelling mistakes: Arrancar, Vasto Lorde, and Visored.
Next, Soul Reapers are synonymous with Shinigami. Vasto Lorde are Hollows.

Stating all those names... really doesn't help much. Why would he know what the Espada or Visored happen to be?​

It's not really like One Piece. Yes, there are comedic moments, but not nearly as many as One Piece.​
