I think it's a good explanation. The reason Mist wanted her,to make her jinjuriki and turn her against her village,is really good and her new power pose an actual threat to the village,so her decision seems logical.I also like the fact that Kakashi didn't break his promise to Obito and tried till the end to protect her.
There is a possibility that the Mist ninjas made her seal in a way that is broken and unleashed by the time she gets to the village.Something like an activation device/seal thing.Or Rin realized that they couldn't get away from the mist nins and tried to protect Kakashi, cause if he fought all those ninjas he might have ended up dead.

It made sense. Earlier in the manga it we've seen Three Tails just roaming around before Deidara and Tobi captured it, I always wondered why it didn't have a current Jinchuriki.

Rin being a jinchuuriki feels extremely random, but at the same time, it was great development for all three characters;

Kakashi - Didn't want to kill Rin, and wished to protect her till the very end. It's tragic how he had to live with the guilt of being indirectly responsible for his best friends' deaths.
Rin - She sacrificed herself to protect her village. Despite that we don't know much about her, she really earned some respect points for what she did.
Obito - He's still insane, but his motivations are understandable; the never-ending conflict in his world put his friends in such a situation.

I think no cause if she was so sure of dying then she could have died trying and using 3 Tails power instead of commiting suicide....

I feel that Kishi was like, "I can't think of a good reason why I made Kakashi kill Rin, let's make her a jinchuriki and call it a day", even though that would mind-**** the whole timeline and progression of the manga.

Really now? Where did it mind-f**k the whole Timeline?

NO lul not all folks. most was with izuna-tobi even as far as going to say izuna soul was in obito's body

I believed that at one point :( It just made so much sense to me! I initially hated the Obito idea, but now I really like it.

But TBH I think the whole Sanbi Jinchuuriki thing needs to be expanded on. I dont see how Rin could be kidnapped by Kiri without Minato doing something about it. Think about it, would Hiruzen sit still and do nothing if young Tsunade was kidnapped?

Also, if it involves Kiri, then it is likely that Madara was behind the entire thing as he was in control of Yagura at that point. This could define the end of the Bloody Mist period because Yagura would have to be dead for Rin to be made the next Jin, unless Yagura was the Jin after her?

I think kishi gave us a sort hint that Rin might of been the three tails host, early on in the manga when it showed that Tobi was sent to capture the three tails, who lated turn out to be Obito, he was giving us a hint on Rin and her death.

I thought it could have been done better.

Rin was intent on dying because of the tailed beast inside of her? Meh...

One possible outcome (if Rin hadn't decided to get herself killed) might have been Kakashi and Rin making it back to the Leaf Village and getting Minato (who would probably be the Hokage around that time) to use a strong sealing jutsu on her to make sure the beast can't get out.

I think Rin over reacted and didn't necessarily have to die lol.
I completely agree with this, Minato could have saved them if they got away from the ninja cause they were only there to chase not to capture, and Kakashi could have reported in and Minato could have sealed the beast completely

Yes, it was really helpful if you ask me. I just don't get how Sanbu ended all the way back up in the blood most village.

This time Kishi did a good job to finish Rin's flashbacks in one chapter.
