[Predictions] Kakashi didn't strike Obito with raikiri, Obito stood up into it and used genjutsu.

What I took away from the latest chapter is that Obito was sitting on the ground, with Kakashi holding his arm out with the raikiri.

Then you can see Obito activate his eye (regular Sharingan) to cast a genjutsu on Kakashi, and next thing you know Obito actually stands up by himself and lets Kakashi's raikiri pierce his heart (Kakashi hasn't moved at this point, he is still standing in the same spot, Obito is the one who moved into the raikiri).

Obito then used his genjutsu to make it look like he was Rin (that's why you see Kakashi's shocked face on the next panel), and is still using genjutsu at the end of the chapter to make it seem as though he has been pierced by the raikiri.

Next chapter will reveal that Obito is fine with no damage :p

Just my 2 cents lol.

Exactly what I think. Him flaring his eye open, and then seeing rin right afterwards seems to show he definitely used a genjutsu to make kakashi remember rin again

yeah... thought it was a genjutsu.
Anyone reckon obito uses genjutsu on himself to change his appearance to rin naked in front of a mirror?

So Kakashi's Sharingan fails to see through genjutsu? Seems legit.

So having a Sharingan means being immune to genjutsu? Please tell me where this is true?

I'll go ahead and give you examples:

Sasuke put Danzo under genjutsu.

Sasuke and Itachi put each other under genjutsu many times in their battle.

There's many more examples out there.

Sharingan does not make someone completely immune to genjutsu.

Lmao, he probably uses shadow clones and then transforms those shadow clones into Rin so he can get down and dirty with em.

i don't know if it was a genjutsu(because kakshy has the same sharingan so he would have noticed), maybe...my theory is that he hit the part of the body that was made of the zetsu :/

Sasuke and Itachi are irrelevant because they saw through it all.

Danzo had his right eye covered in bandages the entire time.

Wouldn't say they saw through it ALL. I remember there was a part where Itachi actually had to show Sasuke it was a genjutsu lol.

But regardless, Obito activating his eye like that makes me believe it's genjutsu... what else would he be doing?

It's very plausible. Surely Obito would still have his heart and the left-side of his body would be flesh, unless he'd completely mixed his body with a Zetsu sometime before. The imagery looks surreal to me, much like how gore and wounds look like in genjutsu.

However, we can't rule out the chance that he only used it to impale himself on Raikiri, and that Rin's image was merely Kakashi having a flashback/hallucination back to what happened.

I personally think there's quite a bit of genjutsu at work. For all we know, Obito impaling himself may be genjutsu too.

Agreed.

A better translation might reveal something as well. Mangapanda/Mangareader is known to have pretty bad translations sometimes.

*********** FTW.

So what if they saw through it?
If it really was a genjutsu and Kakashi really saw Obito turning into Rin, then he obviously noticed it was a genjutsu as well. He just didn't do anything to hear what Obito has to say.
