the reason of itachi's sickness

i think itachi was sick because of 3 reasons
1 he was keeping his 3 tomoe sharingan on all the time
2 he had yata mirror and totsuka blade which may have cause strain to his body
3 the psychological reasons like the burden of killing his own people and mental strain due to thinking about sasuke's safety all the time

Like what was said it was plot. The idea of sickness in the story gives it some real world influence. Other characters were sick to but i forget who. Cancer exists in naruto I guess.

itachi could just 1 shot nagato and obito at the same time

he's too godly to remain in the manga
so kishi decided to put a PLOT/SICKNESS into itachi to find a way to kill him

Thought he was ravaged by a disease that was slowly eating his flesh making him cough up blood during his fight. I think when he pulled out susanoo, the strain caused the rapid succession to eat his body faster. Perhaps it's with the MS, because he didn't seem to have it before.

But if he wasn't sick he would wreck everyone, as an Edo with no illness, he destroyed Kabuto. What the hell was Useless Sasuke doing.

We saw what happened with Sasuke after he overused his MS - he was about to lose his sight in no time. Itachi was using the MS for years, and that's the exact reason for his strain/injury/sickness.

I dont see why it would be because of his MS usage..... Blindness is apparently THE price you pay for having MS.

I just think it was to amplify Itachi's epicness.


He was holding back, pretty much blond and he was dying, and he still had enough in him to put a final fight.

So to me it was to make him look even more badass and possibly


To also symbolise what he endured in his life. Its as if his body was finally giving away because it couldnt stand the sufferering it had endured for these years. The sickness represents the physicality of the burden he took upon himself, and the kind of damage its been doing to him

Nah he was sick, Obito told Sasuke that Itachi was prolonging his life with medicine so he lives to fight Sasuke and give him MS and get rid of the cursed seal etc.
