He has long silver hair, and claws on his fingers, Inuyasha wears red garment woven from rat's fur and dyed red. Inuyasha's garments are a jacket with "separated" sleeves, kosode (shirt), hakama (pants) bloused at the ankles and obi (belt).
The sleeves are "separate" from the body (so the body is almost vest-like), and held on at the bottom. This feature allows the white shirt worn underneath to be seen clearly. When worn, the seam will separate somewhat at the top showing the white shirt beneath an the sleeves appear to "bell" -- that is they are much wider at the wrist than at the shoulder. The jacket appears to be "too large" so that a fold of cloth is seen absolutely horizontal, about sternum height.
There is a black cord across the chest from the right shoulder to the left hip, tied in a simple bow. It is not a sword cord, but appears to be holding the excess fold of the jacket in place. Also the belt appears to be a standard obi: a wide, stout cotton or silk belt about 12 to 15 feet long, and about 4 to 6 inches in width.

The fear or anger at his lack of belonging caused darkness to be in his heart, an he wanted to become a demon. In the rage of battle, he ceases to have concerns for the lives of others. Even when his life is in danger, he refuses to back down. Enemies are taken aback by his unorthodox fighting style and he achieves greater victories than his abilities would suggest. Inuyasha is driven by a fierce, persistent determination to win and his guts in battle have proved to let him get a favorable result. However, his volatile emotions often turn into childish behavior and becomes tiresome to his friends. Inuyasha himself cannot control his tumultuous soul.
Inuyasha is incredibly hotheaded and easy to upset, often striking out with his fists at the source of his annoyance. He often was seen even hitting little kids if they bothered him. However, despite how cynical and anti-social he outwardly behaves, the sides of himself that he reveals in casual moments exposes his good inner nature. He cannot hide his true feelings. Although his friends describe him as "easily deceived and honest to a fault" and "unable to understand the subtleties of the human spirit", his personality is difficult to dislike. Inuyasha is extremely susceptible to spells and trickery, and has a blunt, almost brutal honesty about most things, which is why he often seems to be rude and disrespectful to others .

Inuyasha was born into the main house family of the Noble Clan the Hyūga's in Konoha. Inuyasha was admired and respected as the future of the Hyūga clan by the clan elders. He quickly progressed through the academy, an began taking part in clan and village missions succsessfully. Over time Inuyasha fell in love with a branch family girl by the name of Kagomi. Though their relationship had to be kept a secret, as it was forbidden for Main family and Branch family to be together. During the Chunin Exams, Inuyasha desplayed his affections for Kagomi by saving her during the prelims and kissed her in front of unsuspecting viewers. After the completion of the Chunin exams the clan elders took action and was forced to activate the branch family seal an kill Kagomi, to avoid her being a target and weakness for outside villages to prey on an lore out Inuyasha for his byakugan.
At the loss of his love, Inuyasha filled with anger, fled the village never to return to Konohagakure. As the years passed, he eventually fell upon a battle between Sunagakure and unknown enemies. After intervening and saving their mission, he escorted the injured shinobi back to their village., where he met with the Kazekage an explained his missing nin status an was offered a home in Sunagakure which he graciously accepted.
