I am a religious person, really believe in god/jesus, life after death, etc... I am a student, which is doing Geology, chemistry and biology, so basically the three main science that go against religion (formation of universe, how things work, and human evolution, respectively)...

But I still believe... However I read today the first bit of the bible, which says God made this and that, like this and like that, bla bla... I wasn't conviced lool... But then I still believe..

The bible was written by us... And it was used to try and control people already, and I believe some of the things in there are made up and others are just misunderstood/not interpreted correctly.... And some of the things were made just so people wouldn't question it, there's also exaggeration...

But again, I repeat, I try to interpret it in my way.. So people say I am not a "strong" believer, or not so religious because I do so and I believe in science??

Thoughts??

There is nothing in the Bible that says you can't believe in Science and God at the same time. Science is to show how things work. Science should never be considered a "religion" because it is not something that you have to have undying faith in.

You know that you're going to cause a flame war, right?

OT the Bible has many great wisdoms and teachings but I will admit there are numerous contradictions, mathematical errors, and some verses that are dark. I believe that the bible is a holy book and initially the word of god until it got tampered with by man, thus all the perverse verses, numerous contradictions etc. that are explicable by man's interference.

No I believe God did create everything. It's normal to questions everything but a true Christian should know that the Bible is true and believe it over science. I'm not saying you aren't a Christian or anything. Also I believe God created everything and he started off human evolution and etc but it's all Gods doing

The thing I want to stress is that, while what forms each religion explains created "life, universe, everything" are disproved by recorded, demonstrable science, the actual spirituality of religion are not and cannot. So what this means is, the very essence and faith of religion, no matter what kind it is, cannot be disproved by science, because The Mundane does not cross over into The Fantastic, because they are two completely different topics. Disproving the essences of faith and religion have to be met with elements of Philosophy instead.

exactly, that's exactly how i think about it.... people are just ignorant when they say you have to believe in just one... science explains stufff, if we understand more and more doesn't know there isn't God... when they say he made the humans, he could have done it through evolution, etc

Depending on your interpretation of 'Jesus Christ', I'll join the debate. If you think Jesus is a bearded dude that'll someday return to earth and fix everything, you're not to be taken seriously.

Yees! the only time you know probably, for an ordinary human, would be after death, but no need so because you should believe through your life...

that's what annoys me... this mentality of true christian, true this, true that.... I believe so as well, but I can interpret science and bible information together, and come to a conclusion.... Next time you do a science exam, if you stil at school or college, and they ask this kinda of questions like human evolution, origin of solar system, will you say "bullshit, god made everything" to prove you are a true christian??

Nice to see a reasonable Christian. There´s been so much bad amongst the Abrahamic religions over the many past centuries I´ve taken a careful stance far away from them, well except when it comes to talking with some of their believers, as long as they´re reasonable and not fanatics that is. Myself I try and place myself somewhere in between, but no care at all for the monotheistic gods, as they actually strike me as selfish morons(no offense). Science is good, it allows us to evolve and understand, but it just feels wrong with a total lack of spirituality I must say.

Btw, what sect are you in(protestant, catholic, orthodox)?

People created God as something to believe in while they have no need in....

There's just nature as the ultimate substance and science to research it

Religion is for redneck ones...

Because of religion people burned people because they said that the Earth was moving around the sun,and killed "witches" ,so it is just a weapon to use against people.

a lot of people don't know the bible is incomplete and lots of pages and text was left out of it..

your thoughts on it are awesome. :win: I don't care about religion..

I see it as something people shouldn't take too seriously , but some people think its all that matters..

Its been said in the bible itself about having no reason to believe in it over real life, but people still don't understand.

Parents try to prove they believe in GOD by taking their kids off medicine from the earth that helps keep their child a little bit healthier so they pray to GOD and their child dies.. its happened numerous times..

How Dare a human parent choose an imaginary GOD over their own real life human child.. its so ignorant..

If you are trying to prove to GOD how much faith you have in HIM then you FAIL every time..
You have a spirit in your own body so why pretend to believe in somebody else's characters from their books..

Humans live on earth; humans are the ones that perform the good and horrendous acts in real life...

Neither GOD nor SATAN are to blame.. Its Humanity and earthlings that are "good and evil"..
