Since theres not many shocking(unexpected/didnt see coming) moments in One Piece, I've included some epic moments as well.

What are your shocking moments?

The Flames Extinguished: Fire Fist Ace dies. This was the first time an actual good character died. Luffy's brother of all people. People seriously thought he was gonna live but instead, he died in front of Luffy protecting him. Wow that just sad and unexpected.

End of an Era. Whitebeard's death was seriously foreshadowed but it was still shocking to see him die. After Ace died you can assume that Whitebeard might survive to watch his "children" go off to the New World but no. He got murdered by a traitor.

The Dark Doctor of Death. Laws first appearance after the time-skip was seriously unexpected as it was still pretty early in One Piece Part 2 and he displayed he power by one-shotting Vice Admiral Smoker. Trafalgar IS the Law!

BlackBeard Steals the Goru Goru no Mi. That was a moment no one saw coming. Someone with a devil fruit can steal another devil fruit from a corpse in order to have 2? Wow. Teech is OP.

The New Fleet Admiral. It was shocking to hear that Akainu beat Akoiji and became the new fleet admiral. People honestly that Akoiji would be the new one.

The Arrival of Red Hair. Shanks showing up and effortlessly ending the War at the Summit. He was the last person you thought who'd show up.

Akoiji's arrival on Punk Hazard. Like Law, we didnt expect Akoiji to make an appearance so early in the time-skip. he made his appearance confronting Doflamingo of all people!

Laying Down the Law! Law cutting Vergo and the whole island of Punk Hazard in half. That was unexpected seeing how Law got murdered by Vergo a few chapers before.

Buggy the Warlord. To see that jackass as a Shichibukai was just...I dont even know. He's such a troll xD.

Sanji survives hell. To see Sanji survive 2 years on an island filled with nothing but cross-dressing trans and no women, how did he do that!? This should probably be #1.
