I feel like this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but hear me out. Oh, and btw, I would only want this if other aspects of the anime/manga weren't sacrificed (like story development).
Let's start with a picture:
I wish she always looked like that...
That's Sakura in the recent episode. The one that contains what could possibly be the most obvious fan service in the history of Naruto. And, at least in my opinion, this is also the best Sakura has looked in the history of Naruto.
However, I still don't want Naruto to have fan service.
After reading that, you are probably saying to yourself, "Alright, Vilvake. OK. I respect you for wanting to keep the evils of fan service well clear of Naruto. That being said, I just have one question. Why the flippityfreak- yeah that's right, I said it, flippityfreak- are you wasting my time with this thread, then?
Why? Because I only want it to be more influenced by fan service. Trust me, there's a difference.
An anime/manga with fan service will have camera angles focused on characters butts, boobs and even up their skirts. Basically, all the angles that are completely illogical and do literally nothing to further develop the story.
However, an anime/manga influenced by fan service is bare of all that mess, save for one point. The one point that allows it to use service in its name. Making characters look good!
To explain this, take the usual Sakura. Aside from her face, there isn't even much that identifies her as female. Her body could pass for a man's. If the point of view often focused on her butt... could you honestly say, with a straight face, that's called fan service? No! It's fan torture! However, Sakura 2.0 from the recent episode could justify that name.
So, essentially, I wish the characters of Naruto were attractive enough to be fan service-ified. Of course, without them actually being, you know, fan service-ified....... makes sense, right? Right!?
Wrong. That's called better animation. Derp.
