Would you prefer the manga as theorized ten years ago?

Back when Americans first started noticing Naruto (before the anime, I believe) there was a prevalent theory:

Minato was the shadow Akatsuki Leader. A Big Bad.

Itachi would betray Akatsuki upon defeating Sasuke and awakening a stronger Dōjutsu. Another Big Bad.

Shisui was a rogue agent that even Akatsuki feared (basically, a beefed up Orochimaru)

Orochimaru would get the Sharingan and be pretty beastly.

Essentially, people expected Itachi and Minato to eventually be enemies of one another, and Konoha as well.

We suspected Itachi to truly be evil, seeking to test his limits.

We hypothesized that Minato had been mentally twisted up in sealing Kurama (thought to be an incarnation of pure evil.)

Itachi's goal was to kill his master, Shisui. Minato wanted to unite the world against him, like Ozymandias.

Shisui, or "the third Mangekyō user," was a bit of a wildcard.

Sasuke would have to reject his cursed bloodline (or have his eyes ripped out) and use raw skills.

Naruto would have Kurama ripped out of him, and rely on raw skill.

This follows the themse of hard work spelled out in part one (that Kishimoto has abandoned.)

Minato & Itachi are genius counterparts compared to Naruto and Sasuke.

It was theorized to be set up as a bigger, badder version of Lee vs Neji.

Nagato, Obito, Madara, Hashirama, etc. would never have been introduced.

We imagined the author focusing on developing the Konoha 12 as the plot unfolded.

So Neji, Sakura, Lee, etc. would all become more like Chōji is now (Mid Kage-ish.)

My question is would you have preferred the fanbase's estimation of the plot?

Or what Kishimoto actually decided to do with it? (Obito, Madara, and even Nagato coming out of nowhere.)

That's scary. You used the world "development". Kishi and I don't know what that word means haha

Yes that would be interesting to see - Itachi, Minato and Shisui as the bad guy.. Just asking, where would Kabuto come into all of this? :S But I also like the way the series went - well all the way up to Pre-Child of Prophecy Naruto.

I don't think anybody really expected Kabuto to play as large a role as he has back then.

Essentially, while Naruto/Sasuke were taking on Sharingan Orochimaru,

Kabuto would be taking on some of the Rookie 12 (again, they're be more Mid Kage level if developed)

Still, in terms of power, nobody expected Kabuto to become the god he became.

I don't understand how Kishi decided to underdevelop so many people. The K12 were suppose to be the greatest in the future and he forgot about almost all of them. Sai is my favorite character and he got ****ed over by Kishi. He was suppose to be stronger than sasuke and the best anbu and got super trolled
