of course, Obito was actually in a rush at the moment, so he can't afford wasting time, or else he could've did the same trick he did against Danzo's body guards, fake the counter attack(grab in this case).
BTW Obito can't choose which part of his body gets sent to Kamui dimension, he can only activate intangibility, so whenever an object overlap with his body in the real world, the overlapped part gets sent into Kamui dimension, he can't keep a part of body tangible while the other part intangible.

He can't use teleportation and intangibility at the same time. The second he wanted to grab Minato and suck him in, he solidified.

In the case of Minato, Obito wanted to absorb him so he had to make himself tangible in order to do that, that why he was able to get hit.

If it wasnt that, he could have hidden part of his body.

I don't think Obito cared much. First off the point of the attack was not to destroy the leaf but to plant suspicion on the Uchiha. He had already done the damage by then and no longer needed to continue the battle even after that surprise strike. The fact Obito didn't use Wood Release which would have made an excellent barrier shows he was not serious.

At to this the fact that it was actually Tobi who fought Minato, and he had no idea about the Hokage's style.

he probably knew that minato is the child of prophecy and that with him around his plan isnt going to work...

plausible. But he seemed a bit surprised/uneasy facing Minato which leads me to think that he didn't plan on killing Minato.
