Exactly this, this thoroughly describes why Minato/Itachi get compared the way they do. But fanboys don't even realize what causes the constant comparison of the two, they're too blind to notice how similar the two characters are. They are parallels.
- Both sacrificed a great deal for a relative, and ultimately to save the village from destruction.
- Both where highly respected by hiruzen, and others who knew their stories.
- Both gave a gift to the relative they sacrificed themselves for, and those relatives eventually tamed and honed their gifts, which at first caused them pain.
- Both are in their own ways, "true Shinobi".
- Both are Resurrected to serve further purposes in the manga.
- Both consider themselves failures.
- Both prefer tactical fighting instead of overpowering an opponent.
- Both have extremely high intellect.
- Both have a trump card that defeats most of their opponents. (Itachi genjutsu, Minato S/T Jutsu)
They also resemble the leaf's Light and Shadow Metaphor.
Itachi can't maintain Susano'o for more than a few minutes. It's hardly a counter to FTG....itachi's counter to FTG is Susanoo or a clone maybe amateratsu also helps
plus Minato would need to have his kunai in the right place
I....well.....uh...... he can bring it out at the right timeItachi can't maintain Susano'o for more than a few minutes. It's hardly a counter to FTG....
I really hope you're not talking about me. hmmExactly this, this thoroughly describes why Minato/Itachi get compared the way they do. But fanboys don't even realize what causes the constant comparison of the two, they're too blind to notice how similar the two characters are.
Because....When did the two fandoms get so polarized? Why did the war between them start? If someone says anything against Minato, I see people who I assume are his fans start cussing out Itachi and sharingan out of nowhere, like you have to be an Itachi fan to point out any negatives in Minato. It is vice versa with Itachi fans too, although it seems they are less vocal(Or my Uchiha bias is clouding my vison) I find it funny when the two get together. Kinda like the Sasuke vs Naruto fanwars. So, like I said, when and why? They don't seem like rivals or seem all that comparable to me, aside from being benchmarks to the two main characters.
Itachi wins without difficulty with genjutsu.
Minato can't get outta Tsukuyomi.
When minato stomp itachi.
Itachi fans gone mad and crazy and being annoyed as hell.
The day when Minato beat the shit out of Obito BR00 U_U
Itachi has no counter for FTG.
Haha and you can see itachi wankers got mad by neg rep people cos they lost to minato fans.![]()
Yea and Itachi can't get out of Frog Song. Nor does he have a counter to FTG let alone, Shiki Fuujin.
Itachi fans saw a potential threat to Itachis status as the solo king, so they raged
Itachi can't maintain Susano'o for more than a few minutes. It's hardly a counter to FTG....
This is hilarious. Stupid and pitiful me for thinking a fight between them could go either way. Stupid and pitiful me for thinking there was more to their characters than who would win in a fight. Either way thanks to the guys who answered my question instead of, well, doing this.In the end Minato>Itachi.
Did you not read the first page? lolLess vocal than the Minato fanboys? Yeah okay xD
You do realize I did actually say more about it, right? Or did you just ignore my post? This is hilarious. Stupid and pitiful me for thinking a fight between them could go either way. Did you not read the first page? lol
There you go.Both sides are at fault, no matter what. If one is overrating their favorite character that's fine, but underrating the other character usually offends their fanbase which has been happening for years. When that happens, the other side is immature right back and claims that the other character is horrible and couldn't stand up to their favorite.
It's a cycle of hatred, just like in Naruto~
Oh no I did read your post. I was just showing the first page, and it is undeniable that the Minato fans are the more vocal ones. You do realize I did actually say more about it, right? Or did you just ignore my post?
Also yes I did, but I couldn't help but bring that up. Just laughed so hard. Here.
I do agree with you that both sides are at fault. There you go.
Ah okay. I don't want to argue about this but.. yeah, that might be pretty false.Oh no I did read your post. I was just showing the first page, and it is undeniable that the Minato fans are the more vocal ones.

Oh I'm sorry. It seems I was misunderstood. When I said the Minato fans are more vocal, as was referring to the Itachi vs Minato affair. Minato fans seem more quick to bash Itachi, while the Itachi fans just say Itachi<Everyone, and target Minato less frequently, though make no mistake, they bash Minato as well. If you notice, not one of those posts even targets Minato or even in this thread. There were more Minato>Itachi posts than Itachi<Minato posts. Itachi fanboys seem to be mostly joking(at least I think so/hope so.) I don't think anyone actually believes he can solo the Rikudo.(If so, then it must be a small minority.) I hope I'm not mitigating the fanboying of the Itachi fanbase too much, or make Minato's seem worse. I'm just calling it how I see it.Ah okay. I don't want to argue about this but.. yeah, that might be pretty false.
Every Itachi fanboy I've seen either has in their sig or status, or if you search their posts you'll see something about how Itachi beats Minato on like the first page. I'm not saying that Minato fans can't be unreasonable themselves, but I've heard way more of "Itachi solos everyone including SO6P and Juubi" than I have "Minato solos everyone including SO6P and Juubi". Plus I've seen more Minato fanboys with better arguments than just Totsuka Blade = Win.

True enough, it seems like I misunderstood some myself.Oh I'm sorry. It seems I was misunderstood. When I said the Minato fans are more vocal, as was referring to the Itachi vs Minato affair. I believe a lot of that is reaching. They are parallels.
