Why do people dislike obito so much?

It so obviously isn't that though. Obito is such a complex character, he's not doing all of this because of Rin? Rin was just his icon and motivation for it. Rin was a metaphor for everything Obito hated about the world. There is so much more to Obito than just being 'friendzoned.'

yeah i understand and respect your opinions. Its kind of funny to think that he loved her on the sociopathic level to the point where he would start a world war.

I don't think it's that simple. In his mind, reality will be altered not destroyed, so any harm that he caused would get "undone". He's frustrated that there will always be pain in the world and thinks infinite tsukyomi is the magic cure for that suffering.

I dislike Obito for a few reasons.

The first reason is his whole reasoning. One girl dies, a girl who means a lot to you. . . It sucks, it really does. But that doesn't mean you go crazy, attack your home town with a demon, kill your teacher and then come back later and kill your family. Every ninja in the show has most likely lost a close friend. Not everyone has ended up like him, or taken it as hard as Obito has.

The second, and main reason I dislike him is because of how long it took us to figure out who he actually was. I was a big believer that he was Madara even up until Madara was revealed. So in the 370's when he mentioned himself as Madara to Pein and Konan I was like "Aight,". But then there was the whole 'mystery' that dragged on. I didn't even care who he was nor did I care for the character much by the time Obito was fighting Naruto and Killer Bee.

His powers are also very annoying. So he can only use Kamui for five minutes at a time? But he can easily just stop using the move for a second and it resets. . Fantastic! So he can basically ignore and fodderdize nearly all the Akatsuki with that. . .

I have started to like him recently, with the attitude he has shown towards Madara and him saying he was/is going to make himself the Juubi's Jin. I think that's good for him and his character. If Kishi keeps up things like this, I could see myself thinking better of Obito.

The way he was saved, and all also was a bit annoying. Hopefully Madara or some one goes into more detail. Oh, and how he became so powerful in such a short time. .

Anyway, I have no hate towards Obito. I think he's a cool guy. His reasons for turning to evil for me is more like "Wtf? I freakin' went bad ass and gave a heroic speech and battle before my death to save my friend who all of a sudden kills the one girl I loved cause she might be a freakin' spy or something. I didn't even tell her I loved her. Damn, I messed up my face and my life for this?! That's it, you all gon' get it now."

I love Obito, he is in-fact one of my favorite characters. But the reasons why most people hate Obito are..

1. Because you let Rin Die - I don't understand the hate considering people love Nagato's and Madara's Backgrounds when essentially they were the same but replace Rin with Yahiko and Izuna.

2. Butthurt because their Tobi Theories were wrong - Reasonable but a stupid reason to dislike a character. That is like not liking your daughter or whatnot because you expected a son.

3. Too obvious - This is the most justified reason. It was sort of obvious that it was Obito but I think whoever else it would've been would be stupid because the others are irrelevent. Izuna - Who the hell are you? Kagami - And you are..? Danzo - WTF?? Shisui - You have funny eyelashes... Fugaku - So it is Star Wars all over again -.-

These are the usual, unjustified reasons.

Honestly the only characters that get bashed a lot but have justifications for the hate (like legit reasons) are Sakura and Danzo.
