I'm hoping this was sarcasm and you didn't take the FMA:B part serious.
Pretty much this. It's understandable because people who really love(or even hate sometimes) an anime they've seen can get really riled up about it, and when it's being compared to other animes it can lead to big arguments. It's all just opinion really....but why did you have to insult Brotherhood?
Most people have watched FMA:B and know how good it is. If I used Naruto as the example, most people would have instantly labeled me as a "Naruto Hater." It was the only good anime that came to mind to prove my point. FYI, FMA:B is like my 2nd or 3rd favorite anime. Its a toss up between that and Code Geass.
The point I was making is people will jump on a comment and try to prove how wrong that person is. I was hoping more would have taken the bait, but guess not. People criticize something before even giving the entire thing a try. I purposely worded my rant to show I gave up after 2 episodes. Most people who criticize One Piece because they only watch a tiny bit and give up and say its crap.
This then causes people who have seen it and know how good it is to tell them how wrong they are and back it up with facts of how better it is to....well Naruto since everyone is here because of Naruto and they are normally the ones saying Naruto is better. Even though this is mostly true, it is still based on opinion. Then things get more complicated and it leads to a pointless debate on which is better.
One Piece fans are mad because One Piece haters don't give it a try and watch it fully, and Naruto fans get mad because they feel insulted their favorite anime/manga might not be as good as they thought. They don't want to prove the other right(because that is human nature) so they continue to hate and never watch it.
If people would get out of this mindset, we might have peace between the two parties. People need to start ignoring the flame bait and it might lead to the 1st step to recovery. If we do that, we might have less pointless arguments.
