This is my only thing about the series. You said he was never really an evil person. He shed a tear, but then attacked the village and probably killed hundreds, the guy kept people prisoner to do human experimentation on like the nazi's. He would manipulate children into doing his bidding and manipulate them into become killers, and then treat them like expendable. The same thing with nagato. Nagato was one of the most destructive and evil forces in the series. With everything he did, you shouldn't just become a good person. Like in real life, if hitler realized what he did was wrong, would we all think he is a geniunly good person now? No.

Some assume that Orochimaru is merely playing along with Sasuke and the Hokages, that he's hatching something devious behind their backs, I think this is false, Orochimaru is genuinely a good person now.

Take a look at this:

When Sasuke was expressing his decision, Orochimaru turned to Sasuke and looked like this:

See that face? that is the face of sadness/melancholy, he is seeing Sasuke's redemption, something that he longed for this whole time.


Even Sasuke knows that Orochimaru did not truly attack Konoha out of pure malice/evil:

You might think that Orochimaru's only intention was to take over Sasuke's body because of this panel:

But that was before Sasuke gave his reason why he wanted to meet the Hokages:

You do make a good point. But Orochimaru is and always will be a snake in my book. And there's an old saying that says "You can never trust a snake". I'll just see how the manga unfolds and you may be right but for now I still feel that Oro can't be trusted. Of course he's probably not evil just like Nagato, Obito, and Madara aren't but I still feel like he's up to something.

Nagato was NOT EVIL. He was used by Obito and Madara, but later turned good again. He was just trying to take revenge for his family, comrades and his village.
