How will Gaara hit Minato? Minato is too quick for his sand and once he marks Gaara its over. If he is un able to mark Gaara somehow and they are in a desert (where Minato simply cannot get away from the sand) then Gaara could win.
Gaara's AoE attacks create deserts, even though they're already in a sandy area. Full intel allows Gaara to take to the sky's and use AoE attacks that Minato can't escape.
Yes but how would gaara's sand react fast enough to avoid getting marked by Minato?
It doesn't have to. The starting distance is 30 meters, Gaara can put up Sabaku no Dama before Minato can reach him and proceed to begin levitating. Sabaku no Yoroi also voids tagging as he can shed the area of sand that was tagged.

lol no minato covers 30 m like its nothing. Garra sand is not fast enough to keep up with minato. And your statement about pts garra being an even bigger win is just stupid. Pts garra barely beat lee how would he ever match up with minato
Minato wins... Gaara can't hit/trap minato.
Sand burial? FTG away.
Sand tsunami? FTG away.
Great sand burial? FTG away.
Sand coffin? FTG away.
Gaara has to fight a guy he can't trap (the entire basis of his arsenal), while minato summons up some toads, such as bunta, to give gaara a hard time.. Frog cart destroyer drops a 20ton bunta on gaara, then minato shunshin blitzes in to get a seal on gaara.
The limited arsenal minato we know of can't be beat by gaara, but i'm not entirely sure what he can use to put down gaara through his sand defence.
Where's he going to FTG away to? Gaara's attacks cover the battlefield.
