Throughout the last part of the war, all of the characters that would be leaders of the Shinobi Alliance have basically been taken off the board.

The five Kages are down.

The HQ has been destroyed (Shikaku and others)

Now Kakashi is off fighting Obito.

Kakashi told Naruto to take care of things against Madara and Obito.

My theory is that Kishi is systematically eliminating every person that would logically be the head of the Alliance in order to open the door for Naruto to be the leader of the Shinobi Alliance.

This would be a way to show that Naruto could be a effective Hokage, or something like that.

He has been the voice of the Alliance throughout the fight against the 10 tails, and Madara openly referred to him as the heart of the alliance when Obito almost broke him.

When the Hokages show up they may ask who is in charge and everyone points at Naruto because who else is left.

Well I'd say at this point Naruto has basically been acting as the head/forefront of this alliance...I mean Kakashi was basically the only one left who probably held more athority than him....there's no-one left who can really take charge....I mean yes Gai, Darui, Mifune, and Kitsuchi are still on the battlefield, but I mean none of them have as much presence as Naruto.

So I'd say this chapter deffinatly left him in charge...especially with the, "I'll leave this to you!"

I mean...I'm guessing with this strike we will lose our chakra cloaks and it will be back to everyone using their own powers (which is good IMO)! I'm betting that with everyone on the last limbs we will see the full developement of new techniques to show off....I'm expecting we will see some Hyuga techniques (through Hinata and Hiashi....maybee Hinata if this last strike took down Hiashi) that might help buy some time until the Hokage arrive. Also, I'm anticipating that despite this new Hyuga stuff, we will also see the Gate of Death from Gai.

But I'm guessing that Naruto, the K10, and some of the Generals (Mifune and Darui) may be the only ones left by the time the Hokage arrive....by that I mean that most of the shinobi are unconcious as opposed to dead...though many will likley pass on.

forgot about Gai, I hope he tears it up. i think he'll knock out Lee first then go to the tenth gate.

I agree, these past couple of chapters are basically showing off Naruto's leadership skills.

The nice things about discussion forums is that no matters how we oppose each others ideas, there I are things that cannot be avoided. Theories like this are really obvious to me. When Naruto met Nagato and found a peaceful solution, Kishi proved that he was a better leader than all the people who only are bent on military solution. When Naruto was given the task to fight the mastermind, it was clear that he received the blessing of the leaders of the five countries. When he became the only to stand when everyone else run out of power, his leadership became undeniable. I could say that thinking he is going to be a leader because Kakash or someone is taken means you have a really bad reading . The reason is that Naruto's leadership has been shown clearly by Kishi from the start. The only thing Kishi is setting up is for Naruto to surpass the previous hokages cross the boundaries of Konoha, and become the true Rrikudo sennin.
