I dont really smoke much anymore, but it definitely should be legalized. Just looking at the lack of danger it poses and the possibility for more jobs its legalization can present, im all for it. Not to mention the majority of the adverse health risks it presents wont be as big of a problem as edible marijuana will skyrocket, taking strain off the lungs. You think things are funny, you get real hungry, then sleep. If thats how you want to relax, why not?

Legal. Only reason its illegal is because the government couldn't make money off of it in the 1800's i believe. No known long term problems. Perfectly fine. Alcohol should be banned and replaced with weed lol.
Lets not go too far now..

Marijuana is definitely a drug, and should be kept illegal, it makes people lazy bums. We have a enough of that in our country.

It's not the weed that makes them lazy, it's the lazy that makes them lazy.

It should stay illegal, just imagine all the drug dealers that will be out of work.

Why don't you just ignore him? Uninformed as he may be, you're still just calling him stupid without providing a counter-argument.

well said him attacking me like that for no reason, is him making a stupid comment for no reason.

This has been in and out of the news for the longest time.

Should it be legal

Or should it stay illegal

marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol so whats your stance

Hardly, alcohol is deadly, marijuana is proven time and time again to be perfectly harmless. I don't see how the two can be compared. ^_^

It was a serious question as all his posts that I've seen literally make no sense. Depending on his answer, I'd report him as a troll.

I'll report you for trying to report me for disagreeing with my point of view. What is wrong with you, everyone has freedom of speech. I don't know what country you're from but I'm American. I stated my point, without point fingers at no body, and you come at me on my posts threatening to report me for that? thats silly. Thats some self righteous trolling, oh so you don't agree with something someone said, and refuse to take their point into consideration, must be a troll. Also don't even have an argument to go against what i said, just say it doesn't make sense. Yeah i could do the same thing for you even coming at me like that.

Actually, consider yourself lucky I didn't elaborate on why I found your posts ridiculous. You wouldn't have an argument for that.. Other than that, you're boring me so I'll leave you be. Have fun on the base.

It really saddens me every time one of you edgy mother****ers pop up and start spreading this shit. You disguise it professionally with well-structured arguments, great terminology, etcetera. It's really too bad that it's all to promote an ideology with 'zero tolerance' as its catchphrase.

The post you saw is an example of zero restraint.

Obviously, practical limitations exist to any policy that would be taken into account.

I could talk about How the Third Reich had somewhat the same approach to what they considered the 'Untermensch'. Humans who displayed undesirable traits were gassed (or otherwise killed), sterilized or forced into hard labor. The National Socialists had another target-group, yes, but your concepts are quite similar. 'Cut the sick branches from the tree', ' kill all stupid people', 'remove the unfit ones who burden our society'.

I don't think you quite grasp the ... failure ... of the average human today compared to the average human just as little as three thousand years ago. Granted, I'm talking about those who survived into adulthood - but the older generations tended to turn out much higher quality minds.

I bet you'll shoot me down with a wall of shit, but I hope you can admit to yourself that you're out there. Extremism. Der Rote Armee Fraktion really wouldn't be able to hold a candle to you and those who share your ideas. You're so extreme on each your end of the 'political' spectrum that you actually share some concepts.

Please. You're a house pet with aposable thumbs compared to me. Grasping my true personality and motivations is no more possible than envisioning a 5-dimensional object. Just about anything you read from me should be considered a practice of social engineering - you see what I want you to see in what form I want you to see it. I know how your mind works, often better than you do, and know how to influence your perceptions the way I want.

That in mind... do you really think I didn't blatantly and intentionally portray a very intense and even extreme reaction?

Truth be told - in the absence of large-scale social order - I would generally dispose of people who got in my way and/or pissed me off. But if things are that bad, only males really need worry about such things. Generally, I find impregnable house pets a little creepy - but if society is to such extremes of disarray, survival takes precedence over many aversions.

I'm sure you'll argue that 'just because Hitler did it doesn't make it morally/ethically wrong to do', which I think is true, but you've got to consider what kind of ideology you're promoting. Kill someone for his opinion? Kill someones family because they are carriers of a trait you find undesirable? 'Cleanse' the human race's genes?

Sometimes, when one is capable of projecting the end result of current trends... and those ends are absolutely unacceptable to any rational being... then one becomes quite open to the use of means that few others can appreciate.

You also don't quite follow my position. The genetic-level degredation of human neurological function that is enabled by society and fosters the development of parasitic biological and sociological geneologies is a threat to the overall function of society as a whole.

I never claimed to be a nice person.

I can be empathetic, and often enjoy being so. Doesn't mean I haven't reached a logical decision regarding your net worth and net liability with a plausible forecast of your future developments.

Nicely html-coded site. Sadly, it's garbage used to dismiss the truth. In the end promoting government infringement. fail.

It doesnt promote government infringement. Why don't you try reading it. Or why don't you try reading my post?

Marihuana has never been criminalized and it never will, as the government cannot convert a right into a criminal activity.

.... What right?

What they have done is make it 'illegal', which is to say that it is against their policy. A policy cannot be forced on you buy any institution. It can only become lawfully binding with your agreement. Most people who are in jail for possession are there because they failed to rebut the presumptions of the courts that they agreed to abide by the governments rules.

Your grasp of legal situations is... well... blunted.

Laws are exactly what they are as they are written. Only constitutional permissions and restrictions serve to establish guides on how laws affect people. Now this will vary from country to country (and even state to state) - but the government, in many areas, has the authority to label various substances as controlled.

Ponzi Schemes are 'not criminal' because you are merely refusing to abide by the government's process.

Your passionate single-focus on this issue is quite endearing, really - but you should try to think in a few more ways.

And access to a natural medicinal plant that can cure cancer is an absolute human right.

I, honestly, cannot even believe I am gracing this with a response. I expect better from you and you should be ashamed of yourself.

The courts and the government are acting criminally by refusing you access.

Please. You don't have to be a secret squirrel to be able to find the many entrepreneurs offering the stuff. It's not as though the attempts to control it have been very effective.

Which is where your argument is completely stupid, to be blunt.

"It cures cancer!"

"The government doesn't want you to have it!"

"etc"

"etc"

- It's really quite simple. If you know what you're doing, you can make a fairly large sum of money off of a single plant. The illegal nature of it serves only to drive up the price - which makes getting into drug-running more profitable (and the ease of production means there are almost always suppliers who have a lack of runners and dealers to link into). This often ends up strengthening the drug trade at large (not all runners/dealers will get into the harder drugs - but enough will be open to it, particularly those driven by profits).

That's the rational argument to make that will bring sensible people over to your side.

Your worship of the plant is your own delusional fantasy, and you're going to find little support for it.

Hemp is banned along with cannabis. If pot is legal then we can use hemp again!

The two plants are not the same. You aren't going to want to smoke hemp - and cannabis is not as suitable as hemp for its fibers and other industrial processes.

Hemp can be grown so quickly and its fibers are better for industrial use than wood.

*sigh*

That is simply untrue. It is a myth propagated by misunderstandings and people overly eager to embrace hemp.

I look forward to hempboard since it can easily be 2X as strong as particle board and can replace the need for trees in making paper.

The same can be said of straw-derived fibers:

Of course, cellulose nanocrystals are a further refinement of raw cellulose (from any plant matter) that is stronger than carbon fiber.

The stuff grows anywhere and everywhere so it would work nicely to replace tree farms.

See above.

For industrially-viable yields, Hemp requires fertilization and a wide range of support.

The same can be said of cannabis worth using for making inhalants.

Even then, hemp isn't really all that stellar of a performer. For an annual crop, hemp averages, commercially, a stem yield of about 3 standard tons per acre (which is what you're using for paper). While smaller crops fawned over by researchers have produced far higher yields (averaging about 5 standard tons per acre), that cannot be expected to hold in commercial farming. Either way - it's overshadowed by the most average of trees and completely trumped by variations of bamboo.

Not to mention the entire argument is for naught.

Paper and particle board are byproducts of solid lumber production. In this vein, it is simply not possible for paper production and a few particle board replacements/competitors to bear the costs of hemp farming. Hurting this even further is that almost all of the industrial applications of hemp can be applied to other standard crops to some degree or another.

Corn is one of the most inefficient crops on the planet,

No, it really isn't.

I don't know why we grow so much of it. Not sure why it isn't use in many industrial purposes though, maby the fibers are too tough.

Because interest in products derived from advanced processing of cellulose fibers is only a recent thing.

Converting corn to oil is very inefficient, that's why its not used much outside of war.

Converting -any- plant to complex hydrocarbon chains is a very inefficient process. Hence the superior viability of using the stuff already in the ground.

You can grow hemp to mass produce paper at a cheaper cost than trees, hemp requires very little fertilizer and grows quickly.

That's horribly, horribly inaccurate and not supported by any research group or current agricultural production (which does go on in many parts of the world).

You can mix it with concrete to make a rather interesting form of concrete that is less brittle than normal and more insulating.

The same can be said of straw. The reason is that you are creating a very primitive form of composite material. The concrete serves as a sort of epoxy-binder while the hemp (or other cellulose fiber) serves as the fibrous weave. Though I would be wary using unprocessed fibers for this, as it might open up vulnerabilities to termites in concrete. Moisture is another concern (which would tend to duct down the fibers and cause them to expand and contract).

Honestly, I'd just go with steel mesh and rebar.

Bah, just go google industrial uses for hemp there are tons of uses for it. Hemp is a lot more useful than you think, it used to be one of the most harvested industrial crops on the planet before they banned it and pot.

The mythos is largely hype. Hemp was used largely for rope construction. The other uses are minor. That is, largely, the reason hemp is still grown. Despite considerable advances in polymer technology - hemp is still widely used for ropes and shipping lines. A huge part of the reason is because hemp lines will part under strain with minimal recoil while a nylon line will take legs off when it snaps. The Navy uses some more modern kevlar lines - but those are expensive as all holy hell (even if they don't suffer from synthetic line snapback) and well outside the necessary performance rating of most shipping line applications.

It has its uses. The problem is that growth rates of hemp have been vastly, vastly overestimated by its crowd of worshippers. Combine that with the fact that most of its purported uses attempt to conflict with established markets and industries that would have to see considerable retooling and completely different process designs to deal with accepting hemp as a component... it's just not realistic.

By all means - farmers should be open to try and those industries should be allowed to attempt and fail. The laws regarding it are not serving their intended purpose and are not really capable of being enforced. But industrial hemp outside of a few niches it already has is a completely lost cause. Anything it can do - there exist other crops that can do it better or there exist byproducts from other primary crops (that are already harvested and the byproduct discarded) that hemp would have to be farmed specifically to compete against.

And that's the real kicker. Most of the applications for hemp can be filled by corn stalks, soybean stalks, tomato vines - whatever the hell - things that are already harvested within a self-sustaining industry... hemp would be competing with the 'trash' of other agricultural endeavors while covering costs and turning a profit while also competing for much of that same farm land.

It's not the "savior plant." It has some applications that will make it worth producing for a small segment of farmers. Otherwise - it's just not worth it, nor will it likely ever be.

Claiming that humans were of 'much higher quality' three thousand years ago is moot. You don't know. How would you know? We've got pottery and writings from ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, but if you believe that those are the measuring-sticks for the average man and/or woman of the time; you're blind. You writing that I don't quite 'grasp' the failure of humans today compared to those who lived three thousand years ago is an empty claim. Utterly and completely.

Please. You're a house pet with aposable thumbs compared to me. Grasping my true personality and motivations is no more possible than envisioning a 5-dimensional object. Just about anything you read from me should be considered a practice of social engineering - you see what I want you to see in what form I want you to see it. How droll, a superiority complex with a touch of narcissism.
Empty words. Again.

Are you a comedian or a radical Neo-Liberalist?

Sometimes, when one is capable of projecting the end result of current trends... and those ends are absolutely unacceptable to any rational being... then one becomes quite open to the use of means that few others can appreciate.

I can imagine your average 'rational' human being finds genocide justifiable and ethically correct if it's used in defense of whatever genetic traits you find useful.
I can imagine you see yourself as one able to 'make the hard calls'.

You also don't quite follow my position. The genetic-level degredation of human neurological function that is enabled by society and fosters the development of parasitic biological and sociological geneologies is a threat to the overall function of society as a whole.

Oh I follow you alright. I just don't agree with you.

I never claimed to be a nice person.

Most people don't. Some sociopaths can, as you say, 'be empathetic'.

I can be empathetic, and often enjoy being so. Doesn't mean I haven't reached a logical decision regarding your net worth and net liability with a plausible forecast of your future developments.

I question the logic of your result.

I see you're having a hard time interpreting my words the right way. As usual. Instead of focusing too much on your grammar talking like a professor smartass on an anime-forum, simplify your words and get straight to the point. I still get bored after 10 seconds while reading your posts.

You're like Bill O'Reilly... a good vocabulary but an arrogant, mis-informed douche.

Kid, you're the one who is misinformed.

Whatever potential you had is wasted. Please, do the human genome a favor and use cannabis for all your ailments. Some levels of stupidity, at least, are self-purging.

Confused? It's all in the post above. Try clicking a link or two and reading a little. Or, God forbid, read something from other than 'iwanttogethighwithoutbeingbotheredbythecops.org' or its many copy-paste derivatives.

Broski, I'm not even a stoner. I despise smoking actually. And I've done all the reading there is and quit doing research on things like 3 months ago. I'm just not elaborating on my posts that much anymore as of October, but that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. Anyways, I really want to reply to your posts with content..and I will, if you adjust your posts when replying to me.

Calling me 'kid' is kinda sad, as it's clear we're both 20+. You don't need to go there.
