I can see something like this being highly possible...only without the severed head part. It always seemed like Obito shoudl be the final villain so I doubt Kakashi is the one who should finish him off. Naruto should as Obito represents what Naruto would have become had he stepped off the right the path. Obito is like an inverted Naruto so Naruto should beat him thus I can totally see Kakashi's death occurring.

Imagine the following scenario in your head:

Obito returns to the battlefield with Kakashi's severed head in his hand, holding it up with Kakashi's hair, without the mask covering Kakashi's face, and we finally get to see Kakashi's complete face that way................


Naruto takes one look at it and goes insane with rage, but he still can't hit Obito who just stands there smiling while the rest look on in horror.


It would be like a FINAL TEST for Naruto and his beliefs, to determine whether he stays on his path and doesn't let loss or pain alter it in any way.............



Then.............Sasuke arrives and consoles Naruto, which calms him down, but Naruto can't even be happy that his old friend has returned to fight alongside him............




I know that would be pretty F'd up but it would make for a bad ass scene............
