The chakra that Kuruma gave to Kakashi is just enough to transport Kakahsi back using Kamui. Remember that Kakashi can only use Raikiri 3 to 5 times in his normal state. At that time Kakashi is worn out. So Kuruma gave Him Cakra just to transport back.

Well, what do you expect, he is a main character. Kishi wont kill him just that. Also that time is not the right time for Kakashi to die. He did a lot of things so that the story will be okay. If he dies, he deserves to have an epic dying scene.

OT:At that point the Juubi hasn't been revived yet and Obito hasn't gone nuts trying to wipe out the whole alliance.
Kakashi was shocked,but I think he still believed that he could stop Obito without having to kill him.Don't forget that for Kakashi Obito was his best friend,a hero and the man who inspired him to create his "nindo".It's very likely that he just wanted to turn him on the good side again.
