Did Jiraiya know about Shadow Clone Jutsu?

Since Kishimoto Obviously pulled that shadow clone jutsu ability for dispersing and collecting information and skill that was trained for and yada yada in part two, otherwise, do you think the 3 Sannin or at least Jiraya would know about that? I want to say yes since he has a huge spy network and was trained by the 3rd Hokage and was one of the 3 legendary Sannin so of course he would know right? He would have used that knowledge to train Naruto even harder, but it was not created yet.

Basically, would Jiraiya have know those abilities of Shadow Clone Jutsu if Kishi didn't pull it out of his ass?(IE if they existed in part 1, not that anyone would have to use them, but would they be a thing he knew about?) To be fair, Kakashi knew about them.

Im sure that Jiraiya could use shadow clones, it seems to be a pretty well known technique. The problem is that distributes chakra evenly throughout the clones IE 2 clones you have half the power, 3 and you only have a third. Therefore its ineffective for someone like jiriaya to use shadow clone jutsu for anything besides maybe a diversion. Naruto is able to use the technique to such great lengths because of his large chakra pool and the kyuubis chakra

Yes he did know it even nagato knew, it's a common technique between Shinobi, but it's considered a dangerous technique due to it consumes high amounts of chakra

I'd like to agree, but at the same time disagree. if he knew about them then he could have used that knowledge to train Naruto to be a better shinobi than he already is. I'm not trying to bash anyone, but remember that Naruto didn't even realise that the shadow clones have that ability until Kakashi mentioned it to him. Other than that... I think you make a very valid point!!

jiriaiya was bearly a match for pein with his real body a clone would of been murdered not everybody has mastery like naruto

Yeah he knew but the shadow clones would only take a lot of his chakra and Pain could see through them

He knew.. it's obvious from Oronagato's post i guess he didn't use it cause he doesn't have huge chakra as Naruto..
