I think that meant that he had powers of both Senju and Uchiha which would later be passed on to his sons and so on, not that he was literally both Senju and Uchiha.

I'm with you. The Uzumaki are special no doubt, but I just think they kept closest to the Sage's original teachings, ninjustu wasn't what the Sage created, Ninshu was, and it was then weaponised, but the Uzumaki didn't follow this path. They are said to be distant relatives of the Senju but there hasn't been any hint of a link to the Uchiha, they haven't shown anything that suggests high spiritual energy, just the physical energy shared with the Senju. Naruto being the chosen one doesn't mean the sage was an Uzumaki, the younger son was chosen as his successor a long time ago, and it's coming to pass through Naruto now.

Apparently some people are getting scared of the idea that the SO6P was an Uzumaki and the implications it has for Uchiha and Senju making them be want to be Uzumaki in the gran scheme of things it never seem to them to ask the following, Why do Uchiha need Senju DNA with Uchiha DNA to use the Rinnegan but Nagato Uzumaki never needed it,Why? Because Uzumaki DNA is a complete DNA strand wile Senju and Uchiha only carry haft the DNA needed. The same goes for Kurama Uchiha and Senju DNA are not strong enough to let them be a proper tail beast host, But Uzumaki is the right host for Kurama. All in all the conclusion keeps leading on the same trail. Uzumaki are much closer to the SO6P DNA than Uchiha and Senju who are water down Uzumaki.

You made good points, but Sage of six paths being just Uzumaki(or being First man who gave birth to Uzumaki clan) is incorrect because it was said that Sage of six paths was first human to discover chakra.

Question: What do you need to discover chakra ?, why didn't someone before him discover chakra ?

Anwer: You need special eyes to discover chakra, What are the best eyes to discover chakra ?

Byakugan (That why Origins of Byakugan(Hyuuga clan) and Uzumaki clan are still mystery to us.)

That why Kakashi said that sharingan came from Byakugan and that why it was said that Hyuuga are older and were existing before Uchiha appeared, because they origins lay in Sage of six paths himself.

Besides Sage of six paths being Senjuu and Uchiha is right but only when we are talking about pro Juubi jinchurki Sage of six paths.

Anwer: Because Senjuu(Uzumaki body + Juubi influence) and Uchiha(Hyuuga eyes + Juubi Influenece) both have Juubi influence which lead us to conclsuion that you need Senjuu and Uchiha to recreate Sage of six paths(after becoming Juubi jinchurki)

Question: Then why could I say that pre Juubi Sage of six paths was Uzumaki and Hyuuga ?

Answer: Because they are the oldest clan, atleast older then Uchiha and Sejuu. If we say so, then you can ask: "What these clans have common with Sage of six paths ?"

Answer: Sage of six paths had to use Sealing technique, but what he needed to use that ?

Answer: He would have to discover chakra, here go Byakugan

I hope you understand how in simple and straightforward way Kishi foreshadowed that Sage of six paths will be Originator of Uzumaki and Hyuuga clans or be one of Uzumaki and Hyuuga hybrid.=D

Senju would be a more perfect host then a uzumaki. Believe what you want but it's clear Uchiha and Senju > Uzumaki
