Obito didn't use a katon jutsu on minato that must mean that Minato is immune to katon.

The action's of characters in this Manga do no revolve around what you think they should/could have done but rather, what Kishimoto wants them to do in order to advance his plot.

Obito was already using up much chakra and genjutsu in controlling the kyuubi not to mention that he was still inexperienced and young at the time. He only faced konan some 16 years later.

Minato's my favorite character and all, but I don't think he's immune to Genjutsu. However, someone getting him in Genjutsu is a different story.

But Tobi knew that Minato can tele instantly, so why not cast a genjutsu when looking into his eyes instead of playing cat and mouse game lol.

If Minato could snap himself out of a Tsukuyomi then that'd be the biggest BS yet.

No he isn't immune but... . Sharingan genjutsu helps to penetrate someone's mind by introducing some of your chakra inside an individual's brain, reaching the cranial nerve system and thus taking control of it. But there are some people like Raikage or Minato whose synapses fire as fast as light. Because of this, the time the chakra circulate thru the brain and reach the cranial nerve system, they are capable to react even before it takes effect on them. Madara actually completely to accomplish what he did, making an escape from Raikage at that moment impossible eventhough he realised the effect of it

Immune? No.

Possibly extremely difficult to place genjutsu on? I'd say so.

Immune?
no, just no.
Jinchurikis are the only people close enough to being immune to Genjutsu.
And what you said in the first post doesn't prove anything, Tobi didn't use Genjutsu cause he believed sending Minato to the other dimension might even work better, he failed. That's al, he didn't even show that many Gnjutsu mastery and Minato can, like any character, try to avoid getting caught in GJ, of course with his speed it'll be easier than a few other characters but immune? no!

You saying Tobi didn't show genjutsu mastery?? He controlled a perfect jin "Yagura" and used genjutsu to extract information from Konan when he got a hold of her!

Madara caught him in the first place because he was focused on Tsunade and intended to support her. He hold him and after A looked into the Sharingan, he immediately realized he will fall for it. There are certain Genjutsu that are based on showing illusions the victim cannot distinguish from reality. So once Minato looked into the Sharingan, his further actions and thoughts can take place within an illusion without him realizing to be caught in one, like when Naruto fought Itachi in their first meeting in Shippuuden without realizing it was an illusion. There are various way for Itachi to cast Genjutsu or force the opponent to fall for them, and there is only an instant Itachi needs to cast the Genjutsu upon the victim without latter realizing the transition of reality to illusion. Deidara is another example for someone who fall for one of the Sharingans Genjutsu without realizing it but continued to fight with the belief it would be reality, as there is no way to notice what an illusion is.

As for Tsukuyomi, its power dwarfs the rest of the Sharingans Genjutsu. It affects you in an instant and there is no way of canceling it. A second of eye contact leaves every non Uchiha in a hospital for weeks if it doesn't kill you.
