That wasn't Hayate who fought the Akatsuki that was Genma. They look similiar but the bandannas are switched around and Genma doesn't have teh stands of hair between his eyes. Other than that i couldn't tell them apart other than the fact Genma usually has a toothpick.

Nono, guy can use all 8, 8 dosent kill you, it just causes tremendous stress on your body and tears apart your muscles, he can use it, but not for long, thats the only bad part and afterwards he passes out and if badly hurt .-.

Yeah, it wasnt 8 gates. Its was like Lee opened 4 and Gai opened 5 at his last punch.

gai and lee did not open 7 gates or 8 gates. probably around 3-4 but who cares? They didnt even say specifically so we really dont know and its just a filler. It looked cool though. DBZ level sht.

Anyways, Hayate was killed by Baki during the Chunin Exams. He was brought back to life as an Edo tensei in the previous two anime fillers and also appeared in the Chikara arc.

you are mixing up the people. there were 3 "instructors" in the chuunin exam.
hayate died before gaaras rampage, and the other 2 (the ones who posed as kids before the written exam) were the ones who went on to fight akasuki

Hayate died against Baki. You're probably thinking of the Hidan & Kakuzu arc but it wasn't Hayate going with Shikamaru and Asuma, it was Izumo and Kotetsu.
