Why do so many people dislike Sasuke?

I disliked him because he was so easy to change, he killed Itachi, went off to work with Oro, and he was an annoying stuck up character. Now that he's seen the light, he's beginning to grow on me.

It's very simple really. Kishimoto gave Sasuke's character this vendetta-esque persona and constantly put him in this disposition. If people did not buy in to his goals right when he met itachi for the first time (in part 1) then for the most part they probably ended up hating him or getting annoyed with his behaviour. This was amplified when Itachi died and Sasuke's goal switched to destroying Konoha. I was caught up with the manga literally when that happened, and the fandom was pretty dissapointed with his decision to go and destroy the leaf.

Basically some people were either intrigued by his goal or hated it. And then a large portion of his fans were dissapointed with his development afterwards.

Honestly, I don't really care for those people. Sasuke's kickass to me, but that's an objective way at looking at his haters. It's more the same for Naruto but instead of the goal, it's his actions in how he deals with bringing Sasuke home. Haters gon' hate, so it really doesn't matter.

He thinks he is the only one who has it bad in the ninja world. He SHOULD know better after being with Orochimaru for a few years. I am fond of his character. . Or was. Up until he got the MS he killed off some of my favorite characters, excluding Itachi, but he didn't just spam a few moves as he did it.

He went overboard. He decided to massacre the entire ninja village, which he lived in, for what they did to his brother and clan. . .Alright, just kill those who knew of it. . And did nothing to prevent it. He went over board. He is SO arrogant at times it's annoying. He charged into the 5-kage summit expecting that the other Kage wouldn't try to stop him?

OR did he think he could over power the 5-kage, their body guards, and all the samuri. His personality. . Ugh. . He went from a somewhat cool, level headed kid to a maniac. . . It's fine to have trauma but. . God, once he got the MS he just went off the deep end.

Oh and Sasuke has said some truly cringeworthy lines in the manga. Even if you are a hardcore fan, you can't deny hearing these pieces of dialogue was easy.

"One down... Nee-san" Damn... he actually said that. Itachi was facepalming in heaven, trust me.
"No matter how much of genius one is... In front of the Uchiha, they are just ordinary people"
"I wanna hear their SCREAMS!" <---- That one in particular was pretty bad.

Character exposition wise, Kishimoto does not do Sasuke many favours. But again, very small reasons to hate a character.
