Based on IKSOKRIPS' Naruto Timeline, the Elder Toad is approx. 3000 years old, and probably lived around the time of Rikudo and his sons

Rikudou foretold of a person who would guide the Bijuus on the right path when the time comes

It's possible that the Elder Toad Sage and Rikudo Sennin knew each other, the toad might even be Rikudo's contract summon, that's why both of them have the powers of prophecy, thoughts?[/SIZE][/SPOILER]

Now if this is true, another thing to add to that is that both Child Of Prophecies were Uzumakis. Also Minato who was thought to be the Child Of Prophecy studied in Uzumaki techniques.

And Uzumakis have special chakra, which where Uchihas and Senjus special chakras are from.
From the sons they're not Senjus and Uchihas right away, they could still be Uzumakis...but they counter married with other clans, and got to Senju and Uchiha.

I also think sage was uzumaki, the sealing jutsu and the fact that they were destroyed (probly in fear of another sage) are to coincidental for me.

plus kurama recognized the seal naruto used on him as the sages, which was originally minatos or basically uzumaki.

People wonder how it might be possible the Sage is an Uzumaki but only related to the Senju, whereas they would have to be related to the Uchiha as well.

For one: Uchiha are known for their special chakra. The Uzumaki's? The same thing (On top of large reserves and EXTREMELY STRONG VITALITY).

The most dominant though... The Naka shrine. Why would you need an Uchiha to help with something that was developed by the Uzumaki's? That is the link between the Uchiha and Uzumaki.

The only reason they didn't acknowledge the relation is because the Uzumaki most likely early on sympathized with the Senju's way of peace/love over the Uchiha, and therefore neglected the Uchiha (Probably without knowing they are related) as the Uchiha did to them.

That would be farfetched, it doesn't fit the dualistic nature of Yin-Yang represented by the Elder and Younger brother.

We only know that the Uzumaki and Senju are relatives. The common assumption is that the Senju predate the Uzumaki - but I'm not so sure this is the case.

The same can be said for the Hyuga.

It was an entertaining thought of mine that the Sage of Six Paths was of Uzumaki and Hyuga descent. Through the Taoist-based arts of the Hyuga - he was among the first to atain a "sage" status and fought on parallel with the Ten Tails. The Rinnegan is, actually, not the source of his "learn every jutsu" ability (that lay within the abilities of a "sage" utilizing the gentle fist arts to twist raw nature chakra into elemental forms) - and the Rinnegan was attained when the sage achieved a form of personal enlightenment (and it is not necessarily a blood line ability). Within him - the mutations for both the Senju (his younger son) and the Sharingan (his elder son) took place.

These mutations could have been driven by absorbtion of the Ten Tails - or plot-no-jutsu.

Though it's also possible that his wife was a Hyuga and he learned the original "sage mode" from training with a higher form of Byakugan user (having the characteristics I described - rather than being able to use the "gentle fist" to control the flow of chakra within an opponent - a Hyuga can do that to the nature chakra around him/herself). He, himself, was simply an Uzumaki. Though this does leave the question of how he gained his reported ability to manipulate all nature elements (as we have not seen this with the Rinnegan - despite it being one of the alleged key benefits to having the rinnegan; leading me to doubt the Rinnegan grants this ability).

Which... the longer the story goes - the more I'm beginning to suspect this to be the case. Kishimoto has been -quiet- on the Hyuga - yet Hinata is always placed right at his side during critical moments of plot and character development for Naruto (see my thread about the inherent Taoist themes governing the relationship between the two). For a side character - she's coming out of nowhere to steal the thunder typically reserved for the lead heroine.

Call me crazy - but I think we're going to find out that the Hyuga have a history with the Sage, and Hinata is their part of the repeated cycle along with Naruto.
