Do you really think Sasuke is "good" now?

What do you guys think? I want to believe it, but something seems off. Since the end of part 1, it's been portraying Sasuke as an evil, self-illusioned vigilante seeking nothing but absolute power and destruction. I'm not saying that he doesn't genuinely intend to protect the village now, but I have a hard time seeing this new perspective last. For years, the manga has been dragging out and emphasizing the contrast between Naruto and Sasuke, and it's been at the deep heart of the plot for some time. It's also been heavily implying throughout (mainly by Itachi) that Naruto will be the one to bring Sasuke back. Also, throughout the entirety of Shippuden there has been a focus on not only Naruto's resolve and power, but on Sasuke's as well, and it just so happens that they directly contrast one another's every single time. They drift further and further apart each time without fail. It's been such a present and consistent theme throughout the story that I'm sure 90% of us have been thinking (as I have) that it would all conclude with a final fight between Naruto and Sasuke, after which Sasuke would presumably either die or get Talk no Jutsu'd by Naruto.

As much as I WANT Sasuke to be good again, I have a hard time believing that all of the constant dampening of the contrast between him and Naruto all these years will simply end abruptly with Shodaime's Talk no Jutsu. If all of the build-up of that side of the plot was for nothing, I'll be genuinely surprised. I think something will happen on the battlefield with Naruto and/or Madara and/or Orochimaru that will change him.

What are your thoughts? And while I'm at it, what do you think of Orochimaru?

Well, honestly, I don't think he's completely good but I have a feeling he'll be good again before the end or at the end of Shippuden.

I believe Itachi had enough of an impact on him to make him turn good.

He's probably gonna do what madara did turn "good" then go after his true dream ( w/e that is) and then have his final fight with Naruto and die(When I look at Naruto and Sasuke, I see alot of Hashirama and Madara in them). Which is ironic cause when sasuke was a baby and Naruto was still in the womb I remember they're mothers saying how they should be friends when they grow up.

It wasn't an abrupt change, when he heard the truth about Itachi he wanted to avenge him, but the following events made him realize that the best way to honor Itachi is to defend what he loved.

Honestly to me it'd be dumb if in the midst of Armageddon sasuke is still complaining about destroying a village when the fate of the entire world is at stake. Furthermore all of the villages are working together now, there is no room for sasuke to have his revenge any more.

itachi can still be brought back to life..... he wasn't sealed like the other because he was the first to broke thru edo tensei.....all he needs is someone to grab his DNA and revived him again. I have a feeling that he may be brought back. Sasuke turning good doesn't surprise me because he 's a little byatch who gets influenced easily. Considering that, he could still switch sides again once they get to the battlefield. As of right now, anything is up for grabs and anything can happen.......just sit tight and wait for the next chapters to come out!

Sasuke wasn't evil at first he just wanted to get his revenege but he still had morals and values it wasn't until the 5 kage summit he started being really evil but when he saw itachi again he sort of lost this "dark side" and he still didn't attack the leaf when he arrived there which must mean something. But him joining the fray doesn't really mean he's a GOOD guy I don't think he's evil anymore but we cant be sure:erm:

He thought that the "random occurrence" was just a random occurrence and the uchiha were wrongly blamed for it and thus prejudiced. That's what led up to the coup.According to who he thought was madara. Now that he knows the masked man is an uchiha and responsible for the 9 tails attack he is going to put his hate on the masked man. After all masked man is indirectly responsible for the prejudice towards his clan, and directly involved with the killing of his clan.
