Looks: Aside from the fact that the twin brothers possess the same anatomical structure, there are deviations in aesthetic appearance that warrant further elaboration. For example, whilst the brothers share the same hair color and length, they choose to style their hair in regards to their personal preferences. Also, given that Urasan is more often then not, the sibling who does much of the physically exerting tasks presented, his build is somewhat more muscular. Other defining characteristics include having three earrings in each ear and a single tattoo located upon the left side of his neck.
Urasan's typical attire consists of a sleeveless black shirt, matching pants, complete with grayish-purple striped leg guards. When on duty, he typically wears a grayish-purple haori and conceals his face with a white, porcelain mask. The mask has a violet-coloured owl motif and Kirigakure's symbol etched into the top. He also wears a black hip pouch, along with a purple rope belt around his waist, tied in a bow, in which he carries his chokutō; it has a black scabbard and matching hilt.
Personality: Having witnessed the excessively brutal nature of war from a young age, Urasan has come to be respected by his peers largely for both his patient and stoic nature. To support the village and more importantly his comrades, Urasan is more than willing to accept even the most mentally taxing of missions, without ever once complaining. Going beyond merely his stoic nature, Urasan has demonstrated a penchant for pondering the possibility of future events. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that he often comes across as aloof to those whom know little of his character. However, to those who do know him well, Urasan is most commonly described as amiable and easygoing individual.
Urasan prefers to plan ahead for any possible obstacles to his objectives. His patience is well noted by even his enemies. "Beware the fury of a patient man" is an apt proverb to describe Urasan's tendencies whilst on duty and in the field.

Looks: As for distinguishing characteristics possessed by Saki, the most evident ones include his bangs being centre-parted and the rest of his hair being tied into a short ponytail. He lacks both the ear piercings and tattoo that Urasan possesses and his physical stature is slightly less muscular, given he typically remains dormant within his brother.
Saki's typical attire consists of a sleeveless black shirt, matching pants, complete with a waist-guard, and grayish-purple striped wrist and leg warmers. When on duty, he typically wears a grayish-purple haori with a black sash wrapped twice around his waist. Two identical tantō can be found tucked away between the folds of the sash and a small black hip pouch is also typically equipped to the back of it. In addition, Saki conceals his face with a white, porcelain mask. The mask has a navy blue-coloured triangle on its lower half, slits for eye-holes and Kirigakure's symbol etched into the top.
Personality: Whereas his brother was able to conceal his pain, Saki couldn't be more different. Whilst he never faltered in his goals/objectives, it was always his eyes that would begin to tear up upon witnessing the death of a comrade. With time... Saki came to channel his emotions for further motivation, always yearning for an active duty, if it would mean deaths could be prevented. Whereas Urasan preferred to reflect upon the future, Saki kept his conscious grounded in the present. However, in doing so, it became evident to many of his superiors that he also possessed an inclination towards hasty choices and was generally less patient than his brother, such behavior stems from his belief that actions speak louder than words. To the citizens of Kirigakure, Saki is most commonly described as being both blunt and very compassionate.
Saki prefers to be active, heading to a given destination as quickly as possible, lest he gives the enemy time to prepare.
He is an adamant believer of the proverb: "speedy execution is the mother of good fortune" and always applies it to life.

History: Born in an epoch steeped in mindless bloodshed, perhaps better known as the Third Shinobi World War, the young inheritors of the Sōma no Kō Kekkei Genkai were thrust into a life revolving around the notion: "survival of the fittest". Orphaned at just the age of eight, the two children were quickly forced to rely on each other and their Kekkei Genkai to make it through the exceptionally long and grueling days. However, as the days and frequent hardships were gradually overcome, the brothers noted that their strength was improving. Not long after (one year), both Urasan and Saki eventually felt confident enough in their developing prowess to pursue careers as shinobi, beginning with Kirigakure's academy. Such a decision was mutually agreed upon, primarily because it would provide them with a possibility to a acquire a better state of living. With corruption appearing like an endemic in Kirigakure, the brothers felt that learning to truly fight would allow them to stave off not just the enemies of the Land of Water but also the corrupt politics and vagabonds residing within their village. The following year, after joining Kirigakure's academy roster, both children were soon beginning to demonstrate an aptitude for the various shinobi arts that were presented to them.
With that in mind, both brothers went on to graduate the academy with notably high marks and upon becoming official genin, they were soon apprenticing under the ever-watchful eyes of their sensei. From that point on, the tasks they were handed often placed their lives in precarious positions that quickly confirmed not just their battle prowess, but also their loyalty. With that in mind, their sensei was soon willing to offer the brothers the opportunity to compete in the Chūnin Exams and bring great acclaim to Kirigakure. Having put their lives on the line and overcome the overly arduous process, the brothers were ultimately capable of setting themselves apart from their fellow genin, demonstrating a tremendous capacity for both raw power and teamwork. Their accomplishments were noted by the Kirigakure hierarchy and upon their return to the village, both were placed under intensive training to prepare them for their future roles as... hunter-nins of Kirigakure's ANBU task force. From that point on, the brothers would begin to seek out the tutelage of various sensei.
However, whilst the brothers appreciated the positions... they also soon came to the realization that morals, right and wrong, were far from being just black and white. For the next few years, both Urasan and Saki found themselves engaged in a struggle against not just criminals, but against their own identities. It was slowly becoming evident to the boys that Kirigakure was far from "innocent". The actions that had occurred in the not so long ago "Bloody Mist" were far from justified, yet the brothers had to choose whether to support their newly reformed government... or side with the rebellious elements. After much consideration and with heavy hearts, the brothers knew that they must maintain their loyalty to Kirigakure... at least to protect their comrades, the people they had come to treasure as much as they did each other.
From then on, the brothers put their village and its citizens as their first priority. Everything they came to do was meant to secure Kirigakure's safety and subsequently, its prosperity. Those who fled the village to pursue their own intentions needed to be dealt with swiftly, lest such people seek out the enemy villages. For that reason, Urasan and Saki devoted both their bodies and minds to becoming the best hunter-nin of their generation, allowing it to become their lives' goal.
