Absolutely, I agree with you, but with intel: walls would numb, quakes would disturb.

Besides, ANYTHING that would disturb the frequency would probably cancel it... it's like Itachi's finger, if you look at it, you're gone... if you know not to look: you're safe...

If many ninja would use sounds, many would take procussions against it. Easy as that. It's not that great.

Didn't Shikamaru only have them in a filler? And that's AFTER their first run in. He wouldn't of had the second chance if it weren't for Temari and her plot no jutsu calvary. You have intel that's great but sound can attack in many different ways not just Tayuya's jutsu. As someone quite smartly stated you don't need to be able to hear it for it to work. The vibrations in the water in your body has the same effect. Also Dosu's sound jutsu was LOUD. Ear deafening in seconds sorta loud, earplugs may not necessarily work.

Lmao, you really gonna compare Itachi's finger to sound jutsu? lol xd I would say Fuuton is the best bet, since that would affect the frequency and soundwaves. Doton is also good but would work with a shinobi with fast speed or if a structure is pre-placed into the correct position so sound cannot enter. Muu is also another good shinobi since, he has bandages around his ears =D

Earplugs doesn't work on this sound, its not like that flute girls this goes deeper than that, and i'm sure you remember choji used his boulder jutsu to block out the sound but your body has some percentage or water or some blah like that and it still got him with a simple physical contact

nope, Tayuya's sound jutsu can be broken free by inflicting pain on his own body, Itachi could've bite his lips or something like that in that situation if he was by himself. it does not paralyze the head.

but to balance it out, most sound attack aren't that powerful after landing, either won't cause enough damage or easy to break out of, except for the frog song which takes lots of prep time.

Itachi didn't do it because he had a better way countering it in that situation, which was casting genjutsu into each other, Shikamaru just chose to do it in a different way which was breaking his finger, no difference than biting his lips like Kurenai did against her own genjutsu.

it didn't stop Itachi's head, Itachi was talking to Kabuto while he was in the genjutsu so how could his head be stopped? talking takes the same muscle as biting one's own lips.
