People must remember - That Orochimaru has no interest in the war

Even up till the point when Sasuke makes his decision, Orochimaru has no will to protect the village at all. He merely wants to see what is Sasuke's decision and he will just go with the flow.

Basically Orochimaru is a neutral party. I doubt he will join in the war to help the shinobi alliance or Obiti/Madara.

Either way, Orochimaru has not made his final move.

For me, he is the ultimate villian, a snake waiting to strike when the time is ripe.

I agree that he will be the final villain. I have a slight feeling that he will try to take Madara or Obito's body. His goal is to get the Rinnegan, which is why he wanted an Uchiha body. Madara's undying eco body with unlimited chakra, Rinnegan and Mokuton is exactly what oro wants. He was the most brilliant villain in this manga and it would be sad for him to not be the ultimate villain
