He was so mysterious and kind of badass at the beginin of Part II. Trying to take on Sasuke by himself. blocking his sword without getting, shocked by Chidori Nagasi and he is an artist to boot like myself ^_^. After the Sasuke retrieval Arc, he just kind of faded to the sidelines like Sakura has.


But besides all that...Does anyone know what clan he belongs to? Has his clan name ever been mentioned before? Just curious.

well sai is an amazing addition in team 7.he is quite popular to be forgotten.
there is not a lot about him mentioned in the series but that also adds to his unique personality.

I just looked it up. He was an orphan, who was recruited into root where he become "brothers" with Shin

He is from Konohagakure but belongs to the Root being the ANBU Black Ops.
Thats all we have been given from the anime.

True, but then he deserves it. I don't really picture Shino or Ten Ten trying to solo Sasuke, though Shino Might do ok at first.
