The only reason I'm skeptical of Sasuke's sudden turn to rainbowland is this:

Remember this? Naruto predicted that if he and Sasuke fought, they would both die.

The final fight between Naruto and Sasuke has been foreshadowed for some time, and it was even stated that when the time came, it would be NARUTO's duty to save his friend, not Hashirama.

So my opinion? Obito (and possibly Madara) will tempt Sasuke in some way and turn him over, perhaps offering him a chance to be with his Parents and Itachi in the dream world.

I think that Obito will use Sasuke because of the following:

We already know that Obito doesn't trust Madara.

Given his attitude, it might be safe to say that Obito never planned on reviving Madara in the first place (remember it was Kabuto who eventually did it). His excuse is that Nagato "died" and couldn't perform Rinne Tensei but look at this:

and this:

So Obito was planning on Sasuke making the sacrifice for Rinne Tensei. Granted the first image may have been Obito posing as Madara but the second (where he is talking to Zetsu, who knows his identity) shows his true intentions. One cannot control the Juubi or Gedo Mazo without Rinnegan, is Sasuke meant to unlock it eventually? In any case, Obito was planning for Sasuke to give his life so that HE could become the 10 tailed host and "become complete" which means no Madara being revived to take it from him.

Why would Sasuke do that when he has just made his decision to protect the village? Because he will eventually turn back to darkness and Naruto will have to pull him back out for their final fight/confrontation that has been foreshadowed from forever until this point.

Keep in mind I WANT Sasuke to be good, and it'll be epic if he teams up with Naruto for a bit before his turn.

He never said he was turning to the good side, I think he just wants to stop Madara and the Juubi.
Also I believe the battle between Sasuke and Naruto will eventually happpen (Oro will stay evil FTW!)

I don't think his mindset and beliefs after all that's happened are the same at all...He finally got some form of revenge on Danzo, he found out the truth of what happened from Itachi, the 3rd and 1st Hokage. From this panel alone u know a change has already set in..He'll be good

He might not turn evil, be be tempted in a way.

I just think that Naruto has to do some saving and that all that talk about "saving" Sasuke shouldn't just be insta-solved.

I'd understand everyone forgiving Sasuke, as he and Itachi took out Kabuto and Edo zombies, but Orochimaru? He has no place in a village, he's done nothing but cause mayhem and he hasn't done anything that would make everyone even consider to forgive. But Sasuke looks like is going to be good from now on, maybe he's gonna be the martyr of this war, Obito certainly has big things in mind for him.

Yeah a martyr is what I'd think he'll end up being. And yeah it's important to keep in mind that Obito was likely never planning to have Madara around so he needed someone else to work with.

Think of it like this: To Obito, he is the new Madara and Sasuke is the new Obito (in Obito's eyes). This is why Obito was trying to mold Sasuke to be like him.

Sasuke is the perfect opportunity for Obito and he just so happens to be heading to the battlefield now!

Sasuke's redemption can only come with his death. He'd be fine if he stuck with his goal of only killing Itachi, and even Danzo. But he murdered a bunch of innocent fodder samurai and tried to kill Karin. Otherwise the cycle of hatred is going to continue, the children of those samurai or going to hate Sasuke forever and what if Danzo had a grandson too, they'd start a whole new ninja war and blah blah ext. History we'll repeat it self if Sasuke is allowed to live because unlike Naruto who refused to continue the cycle of hatred by not killing Nagato, Sasuke made the wrong choice and went on his rampage.

Yes I think so too, in the end he will DIE good, I don't think he'll die a villain but will require Naruto to save him at some point.

Is this some sort of joke? I'm disappointed cause of Sasuke shitting on 600+ chapters only to change his mind on a whim yet again, but I'm happy cause we can finally get back to the fight.

Lol I sort of thought the same, I would have preferred Dark Sasuke to join the fight and then turn around but I guess Kishi wanted to throw the Kages in there :/

You honestly don't believe Sasuke will be redeemed if he shows up at the field of battle and turns the tides? I mean, all he really did was killing Danzo.

Naw I don't think Sasuke will be martyred. After Hashirama's stories we learned about two Uchihas who became shining examples of what happens when an Uchiha inherits the Will of Fire, rather than the Curse. Even Tobirama, who was prejudiced, seemed to revere them. If it's true that Sasuke has also decided to inherit Hashirama's Will, then maybe the Curse is broken seeing as he's the last Uchiha (Obito is probably a goner).

The OP's right I think Obito's probably going to keep manipulating him. He personally declared he was going to throw Sasuke at Naruto.

Sasuke is doing everything for Itachi and he is not evil. The little boy who loved his older brother is still inside. You can't turn fully evil if you still have a heart. His love for his brother keeps him good. That aside, this has nothing to do with Naruto. It's about saving the village in honor of Itachi, it's his way of making up to him for all the wrong that happened bewtween them. If it had to do with Naruto, all those pics behind Sasuke would not have been of Itachi.

I think many people expected Naruto to bring him out of the darkness, but Hashirama doing it was kind of a twist.

If he and Naruto face-off, it'll be because something went wrong, Orochimaru takes Sasuke's body or they fight an honorable battle like rivals/friends do.

He might not turn completely evil, but may be tempted by Obito in some way, who knows. If Naruto and Sasuke don't fight (and in a meaningful way, Orochimaru taking his body seems like a cop-out) then all that stuff about dying and the promise to Saskura was all for crap since Hashirama did all the work.

It really is surprising that Hashirama did the redeeming, I admit. Naruto was supposed to save him, but if we think about it, Naruto sort of gave up on him, too, vowing to fight him to the death. Any TNJ from Naruto ended when Sasuke attacked Team 7.

Sasuke said that he would help protect the village and not allow Itachi's life to have been wasted. That doesn't necessarily mean that Sasuke is going to be a "good guy" or that Sasuke is going to return to the village and be friendly with everybody. There's still some serious accounting that has to take place, with Sasuke repenting for his past crimes and being forgiven by the people (Naruto and the Kage) who he has hurt. If Naruto forgives Sasuke and protects him from the other ninja, I think we're going to see the fulfillment of the "prophecy" that Naruto would be the one to save him.

Yeah that's a fair point. I just figured Naruto would differ from Hashirama. Where Hashirama resolved to kill Madara to save the village, Naruto denied anything of the sort and said he would save Sasuke or die.

I still believe Naruto and Sasuke will reconcile in some way and Naruto will prove that he can break the cycle where all of his predecessors failed.

In a way Hashirama was redeemed. Where he failed with Madara, he succeeded with Sasuke. Just like when Kakashi saved Sakura from Sasuke's chidori, which he himself used to kill Rin.

Naruto must break the cycle imo. The whole manga has led up to us believing he can change the cyle of hate and even make Konoha better, like when he told Neji he would find a way to end the curse seal placed on branch members.
