Who wins this? I'm going for Neji here. He has superior Taijutsu, and nothing in Kakashi's arsenal would hit Neji. His summons are easily pushed aside with one body blow.

I think you answered your own question on this one. Neji's Byakugan at his point in time has really developed and his taijutsu is one of the best in the Leaf. Kakashi can't use Raiton Clone in order to paralyze, then follow up with a Raikiri, so Ninken?? I dunno. Tie at the least.

Ninken can only subdue Neji, as they did with Zabuza. Neji, can use one-body blow to counter this though. As he did against the Zetsu.

People underestimate part 1 kakashi alot

He was still a high ranking jounin officer w/ better stats
Naruto also noted that he had better taijutsu than neji(ch. 246 pg 13)
He has his dog summons, plus his use of earth and lightning
He is also a genious tactician w/ a sharingan
He should overwhelm neji w/ his analytical ability and his overall versatility as a ninja

If you restrict kage bunshin, Neji wins mid difficulty at most because using kage bunshin is an instrumental part of Kakashi's style of combat. Kakashi's stamina in part 1 is vastly inferior to Shippuden Neji's and so is his taijutsu. Kakashi can't keep up his sharingan for a long time which is the only reason he could hold his own.

Neji can anticipate Kakashi's usage of suiton and then prepare to defend himself through various means such as simply dodging or rotating. Kakashi's raikiri is the biggest threat but it requires him to get close to Neji allowing Neji to dominate Kakashi in CQC. Furthermore, Kakashi could be pushed back by a vacuum palm or Neji can simply defend himself via rotation. Without clones to act as decoys, I don't see how Kakashi can land a critical hit on Neji.

On the other hand, current Kakashi even without kamui would destroy Neji with raiton KB.

I'd say kakashi could pull the same thing he did to zabuza but he can't due to :
a) him missing a body of water
b)him being unable to copy neji's style.

I'm pretty sure those clones were just illusions as opposed to KB that can actually fight. Kakashi was trying to trick those civilian criminals into thinking he made an army of kage bunshins. As a matter of fact, Kakashi hasn't used multiple kage bushin in any fight.

1. That doesn't matter, you're using bad logic. Techically, Naruto's still a genin, does that make Kakashi stronger?...
2. Neji's fighting style counters his, in part 1 that is.
3. The ninken attack underground, that's not going to work on Neji due to the Byakugan.
