Pain fight = ending

I may or may not be alone on this one but I am pretty sure the pain fight was suppoused to be the end of the series.
Think about it, Naruto met his father, we finally know the big mistery behind the leader of akatsuki, he overcame the biggest obsticle in his life - kyuubi and he is a hero that everyone loves + tsunade is almost dead so its logical he would become hokage now.

Sasuke- same thing, he finally killed itachi, got rid of the cursemark and got some sort of bond with his new team

Also many people say that the shipuuden story became very ****ed (even more so than before) after the pain fight and the whole Tobi Madara thing kinda felt forced.

I may be totally batshit crazy, but this is just what I noticed and cant help but find obvious

That was most likely the original idea, when Naruto was started, however later publishers might have pressured Kishi to extend it, or something else.

Or how overpowered Hashirama and Tobirama are?
Or the whole story of Itachi?
What about Kabuto?

There would be too many unknowns.

I doubt it was meant to be the end of the series, but I always looked at it as the end of Part 2, and everything after that up to the current moments as Part 3. It makes sense if you think of it like that, as you said, for the most part things were wrapped up with the Pain arc, and after the Pain arc things were slow[ish] as it built up the Kage Summit arc. Plus when you look back at the chapters from the end of the Pain arc till now, everything that's happened after the Pain arc has took nearly the same amount of chapters as Part 2 (beginning through Pain arc), and its still going.

Mature even more knowing pain which will eventually lead him to finding true peace
The series will end when he finds peace and solved the answer to the question Jiraiya left for Him

If Tobi/Madara was taken out the story would've been fine.


Sasuke would've returned to Konoha free from revenge and Naruto will finally be acknowledged by everybody. The story would conclude, but Kishi decided to make it Uchiha/Senju spam from then on out...

If Tobi wasn't introduce then yeah it's a decent ending but I would be upset team Guy,Kisame,ect never got to show anything. I alway said if Pain brought Kisame and Zetsu Naruto would've been captured unless team Guy got back in time to help out and kill Zetsu and Kisame, then it would be a good ending I guess.

It could've worked though. Tobi would've been left a mystery but all of the other loose ends had been tied up. Kabuto wasn't in the picture, Orochimaru had been sealed, the leader of the Akatsuki had been taken out. It would've been a good end.

Also I was going to say Sasuke but your comment about him finding his own team and killing his brother...it could've totally worked.

Nope, Naruto still had to bring peace. That was the whole point of the Naruto and Pain talk.

It was possible - it did feel kinda forced. It would've made a nice ending, and Sasuke comes back. Kishi probably did it because the publishers want to prolong the series.
