The show is called "Naruto", so I'd like to think not.

I'd think his importance is equivilant to that of Naruto's.

Sasuke isn't the one facing down an ancient monster, an immortal legend, and a kid who can go intangible.

And Naruto isn't going soul searching because his feelings got hurt.

Their importance is equal. Without Naruto, Sasuke is not important or useful to the plot and vice versa.

No,no,no...There's deeper meaning to the resurrections of the kages.Kishi is using the flashbacks to reveal more things about the past, which I can guarantee that will be important to the war, and related to other character besides Sasuke.

Second most important character, as Naruto is the name of the manga and main character of the story and is considered a child of destiny.

I don't think so...

Yes, Sasuke is important, but he isn't as important as Naruto. His purpose is to push Naruto's character further and help him grow. Everything Sasuke does or any story progression Sasuke gets, is to help Naruto's character.
Everything he does is connected to Naruto somehow...

EDIT: Naruto's character can still progess without Sasuke. There are many other characters that helped Naruto's character in some way.
