Does it have any depth and plot at all? Or is it all action and comedy? I prefer anime like One Piece. Funny, action-packed, and deep. So, Soul Eater has to have all three of those components in order for me to watch it. Judging from the looks of the characters, it doesn't seem serious at all. :/

How far are you into it?

....I haven't started it. I would like to, but I must know that it has depth to it. Like meaningful content. The quality, amount of episodes, and this Death the Kid character has intrigued me, hence the reason I'm urged to begin watching it.

Soul Eater looks pretty goofy on first glance but the plot does get more serious later on. The atmosphere gets darker once the major story arcs kick in and there's a lot of action and tension throughout. Pretty good character development too.

Though I'm personally not a huge fan of Soul Eater. It's not that it's bad or anything like that, but it's not quite my style and there are only a few characters that I personally got attached to. If you like action Shounen though I'd say it's worth giving a try, it starts off silly but things get a lot more interesting later on with what takes place in the story and how the characters grow.

Hmm. Okay, dude. It's okay that the beginning is blah because that's how most long anime start off. I will begin watching it tonight. Yup, that's my Saturday night for ya. Don't judge.

I will take your word for it, too. You make it sound as if it's just decent, which is alright. Not every shonen anime can be on the big three's level.

Anime is shit and cancelled shitty, especially the english dub which is extra shitty. Manga is ongoing and awesome.

Soul Eater has less comedy than OP. Soul Eater has gotten way more serious. It's like life. It gets more serious as more serious things unfold. Soul Eater has comedy in the beginning, but it's only a hook. It now places it well.

Soul Eater is manga if Tim Burton wrote manga. I love it. Soul Eater has it's own tone and isn't in the same vein as Naruto or One Piece where they have a goody character who loves food and is stupid. Black Star is somewhat like that, but he's matured so much, he's Black Star, not what some may consider a copy. So, yeah, it's not like Naruto and OP, it's itself. I think you'll enjoy it for having some qualities like those mentioned, but like OP is OP and Naruto is Naruto, Soul Eater is Soul Eater.

Give Soul Eater's manga a try. It has 100+ chapters and the artwork changes/finds itself midway through. It goes from beginning sorta generic to being true Soul Eater. The author even said so, saying the anime's style influenced it, but it's not like the anime. It's all kinds of insanity and looks so great.

100% recommend.

Nope. I've been wanting to watch Soul Eater for a while now. I'm finally ready to start it because I just finished Gundam 00. Now, on to the next one.

Kid Kakashi is my alt by the way.

Okay, man. It sounds unique from what you said. I actually like that you believe the manga to be better than the anime because I'm a hardcore reader, so I would prefer to read in place of watching. Hopefully, it won't disappoint.

Soul Eater is a great anime. It does start out with just fights and comedy but you get attached to characters once you find out their histories. They add depth to the characters with their own dilemmas

I'm on chapter 22 of the manga myself and I'm not sure if I'm totally interested in it. It has some nice concepts and characters but I want some deep story lines like you mentioned. I can never find good animes or mangas with deep storylines

Soul Eater gets serious from like the second arc. The majority of episodes are intense and engaging.

The final arc has way more depth and meaning to it than any part of Naruto.
