Proper grammar isn't hard, and once you start talking/writing like an idiot, then you eventually become an idiot. Mistakes are understandable, everyone makes them, but deliberately using poor grammar is just lazy.

Is it? This is a international forum ffs. You can't excpect everyone to have proper grammar. If they are still understandable then it's enough

I don't expect everyone to have proper grammar; like I said mistakes are understandable but don't be a slob and not try to talk correctly because you're lazy to do so.

Once it becomes a habit, then it will turn into an average routine.

Put effort into it, it's not like you're doing a hardcore workout, you're just typing. How hard is it to type the whole word instead of an acronym?

ehh, it may be lazy, but as i said in the prequeal to this thread (...my thread X3), I dont think its anything to stress over. as long as the point is made.

So you're upset that people use good grammar, and yet, you uphold the same standards of typing? Sounds like hypocritical logic to me.

I was thinking this as well.

I agree wholeheartedly. Having improper grammar tarnishes one's credibility and marks one as unintelligent.

This is very true. Sometimes, I'll post things without capitalizing them or adding proper punctuation. However, if I need to make a point, my sentences become very structured as well as clear and concise.

I could care less what kind of grammar other people have, but I can't take people who neglect grammar seriously because having poor grammar means you don't respect yourself enough to try work on it or speak it proper.

Not having a good grasp of the English language doesn't mean you are unintelligent. It's obnoxious to judge said people that way. You should judge other's on the content of their posts/threads. If you can still understand them, then what's the problem.

So then what's the point of learning a language properly in the first place if you could just half-ass it?

In my honest opinion formal ways of speaking are most appropriate in formal situations. its like comparing job interviews with sitting at home.

at a job interview, you wouldnt dare wear jeans and piercings. you would be more collected and make sure that your well groomed.

however at home, you can relax and be yourself, you dont need to wear that suit anymore.

i see it more in this perspective.

I will say that I make an exception when someone is from a non-English speaking country. However, bad grammar does impede on proper interpretation of content in writing. It takes little intelligence and effort to format your speech in the correct fashion. Failure to do so indicates that one is deliberately lazy and or incompetent.

You are misunderstanding me. There are people in let's say third world countries who just aren't good in English. They can't use proper grammar because they haven't been taught it. Or at least not to the standards other countries have. I'm not talking about lazy people.

There's a difference between speaking casual and speaking like a slop. Casual is when you make halfhearted mistakes without paying much attention to them or say things like yo what's up.

Terrible grammar is like wen like I lmao nd omg evry sentance and lyke stuf you know?
