Prologue
The Rinnegan User; Nagato, he had made a decision at the time of his death in which many do not know the real base to his trust in Naruto. This all goes back to Yin/Yang, the battle between "Evil", and Good; Hashirama vs Madara; Sage vs Jūbi. I will be explaining: What Nagato's Dying Decision Really Symbolized.

Importance Of The Naka Shrine:
Madara had read The Naka Shrine however, due to his lack of Doujutsu prowess (only having Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan at the time) he could only decipher so much of the tablet. Madara most likely read up to the Jubi's conclusion, and final solvent to the problem of "Peace".
Madara/The Jubi's Solvent:
Hashirama/The Sage's Solvent:
The first approach (Madara/The Jubi's solvent) to the problem: Achieving Peace, was Nagato's reasoning for his actions. Due to Nagato possessing The Rinnegan, there is no doubt he had already read, and fully deciphered The Naka Shrine. Due to Obito's brainwashing (because Madara took him on as his successor etc.) Nagato was corrupted up until the point he had confrontation with Naruto. However, he had a change of heart when Naruto Uzumaki had gave his speech to end the Cycle of Revenge. This made Nagato take the Hashirama/Sage Solvent to Peace.
The Naka Shrine (南賀ノ神社, Naka no Jinja; Literally meaning "Shintō Shrine of Southern Joy") is a shrine in Konohagakure. Recorded there are the secrets of the Mangekyō Sharingan, the story of the Sage of the Six Paths and the Ten-Tails, as well as the secrets of Madara Uchiha's "body". The Rinnegan is able to decipher more of the tablet than the Sharingan and the Mangekyō Sharingan are able to.

Madara/The Jubi's Solvent:
The Naka Shrine possessed information about The Sage, and The Jūbi; The fight between Good, and "Evil". However, I am skeptical that The Progenitor Of The World (The Jūbi) was truly evil, in fact I believe that The God was Good, but with his own reasoning for peace; The Jubi was disgusted at the human actions: War, Constant Dying; Peace never achieved. This most likely brought The Jubi to a conclusion: Eradication Of The Human; To Take Control With Power.
Madara most likely took the initiative, and agreed with the Jubi's way of attaining peace through power, and control. Thus, is why when he, and Hashirama were talking about The Naka Shrine, and its context Madara, had added that there was "another way" to attain peace. Meaning through force, and control can their only be peace.

Hashirama/The Sage's Solvent:
Hashirama, and the Sage wanted to achieve peace through unity, and cooperation; The Sage Of Six Paths spread Bijuu's to different parts of the world to which they could roam free however, they ultimately in the future had gotten sealed into host, this represented: Unity.
Hashirama was similar to the Sage Of Six Paths Solvent to peace; cooperating with Madara, all shinobi come together to create a strong Village etc. This path was followed by many shinobi in the future due to it being the "right" way to peace; ultimately Nagato succumbed as well.

Conclusion
- Nagato's Revelation was betraying Madara's intentional plan (transcending from The Jubi's way to peace), and applying The Sage's way to Peace; Unity, and Trust.
