when tsunade came back the village was a mess, half its adults killed in battle, and sasuke and kakashi were left brutalised and in comas by his psychopathic brutal older brother.
her coming back, which itachi couldnt possibly have anticipated, rescued sasuke from his coma, and if he woke up, hed be either sent on another dangerous mission or become an akatsuki target given his teammate is naruto. the sound 4, another thing itachi didnt plan on, were also the last straw given they promised sasuke power which was his greatest wish, again brought on by itachi telling him over and over how weak he was. im sure telling your own brother hes a weak pathetic infant wont backfire in any way...right?
anyway so sasuke leaves, and..oh yeah thatd make him a rogue ninja and a traitor, kind of like several others before him. before they even do anything they are hated because leaving without permission makes you a criminal in this world. doesnt matter why or where your going. so if sasuke ever came back, hed either be murdered by danzo because sauske lost his trust long ago and already survived an assasination attempt by him, or hated and despised as a snivelling weakling who crawled back to the leaf begging for forgiveness. and considering this is the village who hated naruto when he did nothing wrong...no im sure itll be fine and he'll be the hero of the century!
no tsunade = new hokage doesnt give a shit what naruto thinks and orders this little bastard taken out at all costs. end of all of itachis plans. but its not like he planned for sakura to sacrifice herself to stop gaara clawing sasuke to death in the forest either.
is anyone starting to see why itachi is poorly written yet? his whole freaking plan is dependent on some pretty big coincidences and circumstance. probably because kishi rushed out a first draft of the "itachi truth" and said "yeah that makes sense".
its also why tsunades a good hokage. she doesnt just outright murder people cos they left her. especially when it would cause problems with the jin of the strongest bijuu. every other hokage has had someone evil under their watch leave konoha and come back to destroy it. wasnt much she could do to stop sasuke since she barely knew the kid and was trying to fix hiruzens mess as soon as she got there. you know the mess of why the fuk wouldnt you notice madara ish tendencies in the last remaining uchiha and do something about it.
