hashirama wasnt comapring his power to itachi, he was comparing his decission to itachi's decision, which is stronger than power, i mean killing your own clan and stuff like that was preety hardcore im preety hashi was saying something like that when he heard about what itachi did to the village. And second, ok let's say hashi did that what you just told us, he forced tobirama to stop the democracy and stuff, what do you think would happen to tobirama then? im preety he wont just sitback there and let madara walking to konoha so im sure he'll be the one leaving the village for the fact that his own brother let him do that and didnt listen, i think hashi did a goodjob listening to him and didnt let his kiddow act to pop, cous if it's tobirama vs hashi, i don't thnk hashi would kill him.

Not about stopping the democracy, but making Tobirama to quit his hating attitude and give them a chance. Itachi, Shisui are proofs that Uchiha isnt all about hatred. Even Madara wasnt just hatred because he changed for good before Tobirama's action drove him to an edge again.
