I'm assuming he used izanagi several times including that time he killed konan.

Obito said that if Itachi knew all of his secrets he'd be dead right now, meaning that It couldn't have been izanagi because Itachi already knows about that technique. He however has no idea about the secret as to why obito survived, therefore that secret is kamui (because he knows nothing about it)
