Why is North Korea Threatning US?

For them the Cold War is still not finished. For the majority of the world, when the SU fell in 1991, it was the end of the bipolar world where capitalism and communism were natural archenemies. Now North-Korea still sees the world like that and America is the prime representative of the capitalistic nations, thus their enemy.

North-Korea still places itself and America within that Cold War context, but considering the outside world doesn't really do that anymore, friction is inevitable. Because North-Korea recently go a new young leader, he probably wants to prove himself. Especially because North-Koreans are heavily indoctrinated in them being superior. Knowing that and the fact that they are toying with nuclear weapons, well it's gunpowder barrel situation ready to explode.

Its more complicated than that. I think they wan't to take back south korea as part of their nation.
They want to have what SK have, since South Korea have become a richer country.
Having nuclear means they are up to something of a grand scale. Like perhaps world domination.
In my opionion this threat should be taken out before it becomes a major global problem.

Your opinion doesn't really matter in the end. America is the melting pot of the world, saying they don't care about anyone else is retarted. We exist for peace. Don't assume all Americans want war, but we do want to defend ourselves from attacks and that needs no reasoning behind it.

You know if you think about it, going to war with the U.S. isn't that bad of an idea. Sure you will get your ass kicked, but the U.S. has no way to be able to support another damn war. We are already in debt so much, another war will just make the U.S. crash. Basically North Korea will just kamikaze with America and take each other out. One gets their ass handed to them on a silver platter, the other crashes financially.

Can anyone explain whats really going on. All i know is nuclear threats, but why is North Korea threatening to attack?

That is a good place to start. You have to understand that this country is the definition of an oligarchy with an isolated, brainwashed population. The only people who are allowed to know the 'truth' of the outside world are the people who are close political allegiances to the regime. Even then - many of those people are under constant threat of being declared traitors and tossed into labor camps by a brainwashed population.

Realistically - they are of minimal threat to the U.S. While they have some old nuclear weapons, they are barely of the same strength used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and they have no means to really deliver those weapon systems to a target. The ones at most risk are the South Koreans.

That said - North Korea's antics are largely a stunt for internal politics and to grand-stand for the new 'leader' Kim Il Sun who is taking over from his father, Kim Jong Il. This is to solidify within the regime that he is every bit as 'good' of a leader as his father, and grandfather before him.

I don't really think any of them have the intention of going to war with us. For all intents and purposes, the North Korean regime is 'content.' The state is worshipped, and members of power within the regime get their flavor of school girl each weekend. Why ruin that?

LOL it is nothing much, US were threatening North Korea to stop making Nuclear stuffs, because they are more in favor to South Korea which dislikes North Korea.
So US basically gives threats to all the countries that start Nuclear plants and are not friends with US ... Examples : Iran, North Korea .

North Korea has no "nuclear program." They have a few nuclear warheads that they've been struggling to maintain. That's it.

Further, South Korea and North Korea do not 'dislike' each other. They view each other as long separated family. The problem is that North Korea is run by a communist dictatorship that has brainwashed the population.

North Korea has been threatening military action against the world since the establishment of the 38th parallel. Backed by the USSR and China, they tried it. Once.

Going it alone this time around would be... well - they can't even afford to properly feed and clothe their soldiers. Most of them would probably desert upon entering South Korea or simply go into catatonic shock from the abundance of technology and food.

So basically North Korea has told US to not interfere, they are making Nuclear program for their safety, if US tried to interfere, they would nuke US first.

North Korea is, technologically, about where Germany was during World War 1 with a few random modern technologies and concepts thrown in for flavor.

Their missiles that they keep trying to fire are, essentially, amped-up V-1 rockets. And they can't seem to wrap their head around it.

Who cares? NK can have all the nukes they want, they first have to get it into the US to use it...have fun with that. Do people actually pay attention to the barking Chihuahua locked in the car?
