Joy Boy

Very little is known about Joy Boy, the man who once wrote an apology on a piece of rock, which would be the ponyglyph on Fishman Island. He is said to be a great man from around 800 years ago, the Void Century, and a person with an ambition to bring the fishmen to the surface.

Recently, in the newest chapter actually, it was finally confirmed that the devil fruits are really being reborn after the death of their ability users, just as you can see here:

If you think logically about it, this might have been going on for several centuries, maybe since the start of time. If this is happening in the present of the One Piece world, then it shouldn’t be hard to believe that it was also happening in the time of Joy Boy.

Considering this, what if Joy Boy was one of the many rubbermen, being in the possession of the fruit of rubber? Just to overthink it a bit, he might have had similar looks and personality as Luffy, as well as the other rubbermen throughout the times.

It might be too early to ponder who this man really was, though this theory isn’t about his identity, but this was just something I wanted to share with you.

Considering he wrote on a Poneglyph it is highly likely he was from the Anceint Civilization. While possible that he was a D., I find it strange it wasn't Joy D. Boy on the signature.

Assuming that the D. ties into the ancient civilization, it is possible to conclude that the D. may tie into the royal family of the ancient civilization. As such, Joy Boy may have simply not been Royalty in the Ancient Kingdom. However, he may have been a high official or possibly a shipwright (Noah), and as such was acting as an ambassador for the Ancient Kingdom to establish relations between the Fishmen and the Ancient Civilization.

I never thought that he may be a Rubber Man, but I'm sure we will probably see who the previous owner of the fruit was, or someone with it in the past! Most likely this will be discovered by way of Poneglyph, or through some context involving the Anceint Civilization.

Almost all super interesting characters down the line will have the will of D. I can wait for them to explain just what exactly the will of d. is.

This. And he's probably a D., and was the king of the AK

Doubt Roger had it, considering Rayleigh once stated he wasn't in possession of any devil fruit abilities. I'm also interested in how Shanks found the fruit of Rubber, and I'm sure Oda will show us one day.
