Why do the ninjas in naruto never aim for the head? Even in close quarters where a headshot is a confirmed hit. Example, kakashi stabbing kakuzu's heart instead of his head. Minato using rasengan on obito's back instead of his head. Why? in kakuzu's case, who cares if he has 100 hearts, without a head he would be dead.

Dead is dead. The body is just an easier target.

Because that's anticlimactic, which means lackluster plot development.

I think a lightning charged hand through someones head might be a bit brutal for Kishimoto, not to say he couldn't do it, its just not his style.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Another example, naruto holding kabuto in part 1, kabuto was basically asking for a rasengan to the head. But nope, naruto went for his stomach.

When you have gaara squishing people alive with sand, I think a headshot is rather tame. What about using bijuu dama(highly explosive) to bomb everything to pieces? Being shredded by rasenshuriken alive? Headshotting is basically mercy killing in naruto.

Exactly, Hidan's head is lopped off. So why not other enemies' head get lopped off? It gets the job done quicker.

Plus Onoki's clone got shot in the head by the water gun technique, so it does happen. Just not as often.

since sasuke don't wear a head gear, kishi forbid everyone in manga to go for head shots .

Its a fight style defined in manga by Kishimoto so we can't say anything about it. :)

Don't forget Kisame cops a double lariat and gets decapitated. Also the previously stated and Sasuke have both taken lariats to the chest and have been shown with their chests messed up something fierce.

And by the way, if Kakazu had his head chopped off I'm sure his body would just use its threads to sew it back on? But probably he controls that threads himself, which he'd need his head for

Unrelated but: I'm sure there must be a thread on it but I couldn't find it. Where does Kakuzu's blood that Shikamaru uses to trick Hidan with come from? I thought Hidan was all threads
