How can Rock Lee walk on water?

So Rock Lee is a straight out taijutsu user. How is he able to walk on water if he isn't able to perform ninjutsu or genjutsu?

I can only remember him doing it in the anime, and not the manga. The anime can get some things mixed up/completely wrong sometimes, so that could be the reasoning (unless, of course, there's a manga page with it).

Water Walking requires very precise chakra control, so much so that even Naruto, who had already mastered a jonin-level technique (Shadow Clone) had trouble with it. If Rock Lee could use his chakra so well as to walk on water, why wouldn't he be able to perform some of the E-rank techniques they learn in the academy?

Because walking on water has nothing to do with Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. It's simple chakra control

Ask Kishi. It dosen't matter because Gai probably trained Lee to walk on water.

If you recall, Naruto had difficulty walking on water because of the seal Orochimaru placed, not because water walking is especially hard.

It seams almost everyone here is talking BS, Lee walking on water only happened in the anime. Lee can't mold chakra at all, can only use it to boost his strength and speed. Stop saying its simple chakra manipulation, it took sasuke and naruto +/- three days of all out practice to master this (tree climbing exercise) and had far better chakra control even then.
