That was sign of love and care in Japanese culture .
She didn't mean to hurt him .
She was worried about him .
Beside.
She already hugged him twice.

XD Punching doesn't = love, dumb@$$.

Part of japanese culture? XDXDXD

She didn't mean to hurt him? sheesh, are you retarded? WHat else is a punch supposed to do?

And her hugs don't mean anything XD

Look up a Tsundere and you'll see what Kishimoto did to Sakura. It's a common role the heroine plays in many manga/anime.

As I said, it's just japanese slapstick, but the author uses it incorrectly in that instance after the pain fight, seriously, it was unnecessary and not funny at all.

Just like Naruto's naiveté when fighting Edo Nagato, Kishimoto fails to portray their character comically without making them look like total numbnuts sometimes.

I know what a tsundere is, but either way, violence is violence.

Oh ho? Than why is it only with Naruto & not Kakshi, Sasuke, Tunade, Lee etc? Face it, before the world war arc, she disrespected him, an even thought he was dumb enough to fall for a fake confession

I've seen it done on TV, too. The girl who secretly cares for the guy she's always fighting with, slaps him when he does something foolishly brave then either hugs or kisses him.

I think this is a sufficient rebuttal

It's the most common use for female characters even outside of Japan! Girl meets guy and tension forms, girl hits guy who likes her and always tries to impress her. Guy does something really brave and girl finally realizes how much she cares and then she shows it in a way that shocks the guy.

But in this instance it was totally anticlimactic, Naruto was having his deserved moment of glory after saving the village and being acknowledged by its people, and then he gets punched in the head* for the sake of slapstick, I just consider it an annoyance in cases like this, really.

EDIT: Correction*

Punched in the gut? She knocked him on the head, caught him gently as he fell and pulled him into her arms.

Violence is violence. ... yea.. So what's up with that signature?
