I think the orange thing is more to reflect his normal outfit. He's been called "Konaha's Orange Hokage". In the same way that Kakashi is "White Fang", and Minato is "Yellow Flash". I don't think the color has anything to do with the mixture of their chakra, but more of a defining trait, if that makes any sense.

Isn't everyone's chakra blue? This isn't Bleach, where there are many different spiritual pressure colors.
